Sanford Emails
Beaufort Gazette ^ | 6-24-09 | Beaufort Gazette

Posted on 06/24/2009 3:16:10 PM PDT by ArtyFO

Below are excerpts of e-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The State has removed the woman’s full name and other personal details, including her address, e-mail address and children’s name.

Sanford’s office Wednesday did not dispute the authenticity of the emails.

McClatchy special correspondent Angeles Mase visited the 14-story apartment building in Buenos Aires Wednesday where the woman lives, according to the emails, which included her address. The woman at the address answered to the name in the emails and, at first, agreed to speak to a visitor, but she declined after the visitor identified herself as a reporter.

The doorman at the building, shown a photograph of Sanford, said he did not recognize him. According to the doorman, the woman has two sons, one a teenager of driving age and the other younger. The emails refer to the woman’s two sons.

Gov.Sanford, I have to tell you that in my life I’ve seen many marriages fail for the very thing you have done. Many were caused by passion as you write about. In every case except one the two cheaters own marriages did not last. The one that still exists only does so through a codependent relationship where the good for nothing husband controls his money maker wife and directs her every move.

I agree with you. The only one to blame is himself. If he cannot practice some restraint in his own life, then he is not fit for office. And he said at the news conference that he and his wife will be working on the marriage. Really! He just got back form his fling with his mistress!

I guess it boils down to keeping a clear head that some executive and governmental experience is a mandatory qualification for the highest office in the land, and then deciding who is the candidate whom I can support, win or lose, where I can say I offered my nation my best hope with my vote.

It is becoming more apparent that Sarah Palin is the answer to that question.

Romney, while showing better than I suspected in the last round, is still a candidate that if nominated, all too often, will do what he pleases regardless of conservative principle consistancy and if elected will do the same. His record makes that clear.

I know, I don’t know what’s wrong with them. And I agree about Quayle. He did seem a little goofy at times, but who among us does not? He appears to be a very bright man, and a good conservative, but his career was effectively ended by a vile press corp.

I don’t think Sanford is dumb at all(perhaps in his personal life..yes..he did a dumb thing)....but he was standing up to the marxist take-over of this country. I thought he was a breath of fresh air when he stepped out into the national arena. That’s all I know about him though and have never really heard much about him until then.

So how much damage could a thief do if he got the car started and put it into first gear?

I agree, this is terribly personal, and harmful to his family.

How about standing up to porkers in his own party.

Other than his shirking duty by being absent for 5 days, Mark Sanford was a pretty good governor, IMO. He still might make a good president. Just sayin’

Fuhgeddaboudit, disgraced Republicans just don't do that kind of thing. But if (in some fantasy) he did run, it would be so amusing to see the rats twist themselves into pretzels on their newfound marital fidelity kick.

"World wind," Governor? Seriously?

Apparently educated in government schools?

Do you have any doubts that “the powers that be” can access any ordinary e-mail account in the country?

Everyone should be using encryption on the e-mail. But no, they just go on blindly sending out "postcards" with the most intimate details of their life without a care in the world.

"World wind? On top of being a lech with a socialist mindset, the guy is a moron."

And some here are in mourning because his political career has been truncated. A few nut cases were pushing him for president.

Considering the high percentage of infidelity in marriage, it’s going to be nearly impossible to find candidates who haven’t, or won’t do the same. Best to get it out in the open now. They (Ensign and Sanford) can recover from this politically at some time if they do what’s right from this point forward.

I think his wife found out about these emails months ago, perhaps from an anonymous source on his staff. I agree, it’s a shame they were made public.

That will be one cold day in hell. He’s got lots of apologies to make to a WHOLE lot of people and instead of doing so, just continues to bully and name call. Apparently, this behavior is pretty standard and is condoned.

"I said to myself, this guy is off his meds, I couldn’t beleive that this is the fellow that everyone says is head and shoulders above Palin in qualifications."

No KC, not everyone, but really just a handful of obnoxious kooks. Remember who they were, so that their future utterances can be properly understood.

"I think I am going to keep on supporting the one that they love-to-hate. She just looks better and better."

Ditto!

About $3500.00

Did you read his comment about Rush exceeding his “share” of time at the microphone?

People are not given a “share” of public opinion. People either listen to them or not. Time can be bought or be given for ideological reasons; but Rush is the most highly paid radio personality of all time for one reason and one reason only.....

The American people TUNE HIM IN.
