Iran's interior minister on Wednesday accused U.S. spy agency the CIA of helping to fund "rioters," stepping up accusations of Western involvement in street unrest following the country's disputed election.
"Britain, America and the Zionist regime (Israel) were behind the recent unrest in Tehran," Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars News Agency.
"Many of the rioters were in contact with America, CIA and the MKO and are being fed by their financial resources," he said. The MKO (Mujahideen Khalq Organization) is an exiled Iranian opposition group.

Bush would have called the leaders of the Iranian Army and told them the US would make them filthy rich if they would remove the Mullahs from power (just like we did in Iraq).
The Zero doesn't want the Mullahs to fall because then it would become evident that the Iranian people have witnessed freedom for 5 years in Iraq and watch 5 free and fair elections and want freedom too.
Zero can't let that happen because that would clearly mean that the Bush Doctrine worked and that going into Iraq and setting up a democracy in the middle east changed the world and Zero would be the one guy who "Voted against it".
If the Mullahs fall militant Islam would die, Hezbollah and Hammas would be powerless, Hugo Chavez and Kim Jong Il would be left alone twisting in the wind.

Regardless of whether the Iranian government should be overthrown or not, if people don’t believe the CIA and EU spygroups are knee deep in this mess...I guess you should put in a tape of Wrestlemania I where Hulk Hogan was the all-american good guy and Roddy Piper was the evil bad guy and have a nice tidy storyline.

Republican Guard commanders would be sticking out of their APCs lijke burnt matchg heads from being hit with rockets we woukld have provided. there would bbe the smell of explosives filling Tehrans air from all of the hardliners homes and warehouses that would have been blown up at night...

I can’t say as I exactly agree with you that the old tigers have no teeth, but I WILL say that this would be a perfect time to move in and make certain that the nuclear sites in Iran fizzle and go out with a whimper if they try to launch. With so much chaos, now would be the time. I’m just sorry that the kids have to take it in the shorts once again. How many times will these people kill their children in this maniacal quest for world domination? Yet, we stand silent and wring our hands. A well-placed bullet (back in the old days) would render fewer angelic faces staring blankly up into the Heavens and less tears watering the earth where mothers walk.
It has nothing to do with them putting the people in the streets, it has to do with shaping the story in Western Media. It really isn’t that hard to figure out and it doesn’t take a lot of money or even brain power. The BBC has already admitted faking photos or the interpretation of them.

There really are, shockingly, PRO Iran govt rallies going on in Iran. Sure there are mistakes, but is it really sooooo hard to believe there are groups shaping the story because of the way Iran and the internet works?
The US and Britain have been involved in Iranian affairs for years, it is hardly a deep dark conspiracy, it is just a matter of history.
It soesn’t mean they are faking a million people, it means they are shaping Western perception. To what end? Maybe to give cover for an Israeli bombing, maybe to get a certain person into power eventually...who knows?
It isn’t really even a big operation...hardly the same as people who think 9 11 was staged. It is hard to believe the government could be so incompetent and still pull something like that off. But Twitter, live leak, a few digital pictures, tweets, videos and reports? Even a group of smart college kids could do some of that. Throw a little money here or there and you have a situation you can work with.
That isn’t to say the Iranian government shouldn’t be overthrown, or that the current leadership is legitimate, just a statement that reality is a lot more complicated.
But imagine election 2000 and the only way to report the story was a few Tweets, videos, eye witness reports. You could make it look any way you wanted. Bush stole the election and everyone was against him etc etc. If a person on an island only saw Michael Moore movies what would he think?
The CIA backing a freedom movement? Please, this is an agency that has always preferred to deal with tyrants.
