California incomes decline — again

Californians saw their incomes decline 0.8% in the first quarter, reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It was the second consecutive quarter Californians saw less money in their pockets. In the last three months of 2008 incomes fell 1.3%.

BLS analysts attribute the overall drop to job losses, lower interest rates, and smaller corporate dividend payments. The decline was moderated by rising unemployment insurance benefits for laid off workers, cost of living adjustments for retirees, and pay raises for government employees.

In terms of sectors, Californians in farming took the biggest hit, with personal income down 20.76%. Construction workers saw their incomes drop 5.95% and the finance sector fell 4.1%.

The big winners in California were military personnel, who saw their incomes increase 6.35% in the quarter. Federal government workers ranked second, up 5.36% and utility workers’ pay rose 3.49.

Saw an article yesterday about CA unemployment. A quote in the article stated that while job losses continued, gov’t jobs actually grew. Yup, we have a real crisis, but Arnie is still hiring.

They said the extra state workers would ONLY help with all the unemployment claims.

Interesting that the PENSIONS of Kalifornicate “civil service” retirees was not mentioned....

The former Mayor of a small and mostly unheard of town is RETIRED on a salary of nearly $500,000 per year?

Don’t believe me, check it out.
NOTHING is too rich for our retired “civil servants” in this Leftist and Bankrupted state..

http://californiapensionreform.com/calpers/

Taxpayers have been enslaved by “civil servants”...
Taxpayers should REFUSE to permit UNIONS for “civil servants”, and should refuse to recognize EVERY current Union agreement upon their expiration...

Water delivery to Central Valley farmers in Kalifornia have been all but shut off. Farmers will be bankrupt—property taxes will NOT get paid—complete economic failure of thousands of jobs and businesses.....all for the snail darter which is a very small fish in the delta.

At this same time, there is a bill swimming thru the Kalifornia legislature which encourages more Mexican farm workers.

What farms will they be working on???

What food will Kalifornia no have available for their residents??
