Maybe you should have done what most of us did do - just wait for the press conference.... there was nothing concrete to either defend or excoriate until he spoke out. He has now done so and you can put a fork in his political aspirations.

Thank you for answering the question. I just wanted to know if you were a part of that gang. I suggest, again, you re-read my posts if you wish to understand where I’m coming from. I defended against a lynch mob mentality BEFORE we knew the facts, and if that is somehow too difficult to comprehend, or somehow oppressive/offensive, et al, for speaking against it, what can I tell you ? My conscience is clear, and I’d do it again. In fact, I expect I’ll have to do it again now that Palin is our last hope for 2012.
How would you deal with a lynch mob coming for your scalp ? It’s an honest question. We know he’s guilty now, but you didn’t know that before 2:30pmET. Did he not deserve consideration up to that point from people wanting to destroy him before the facts were known ?

i looked at a set of circumstances, surmised, in this case quite correctly, that something was not on the up and up. i will not apologize for being realistic and looking at situations pragmatically. we were right, you were wrong and i could give a good dang if you think i am a troll or not.
Kind of like the “lynch mob” that was going after Gov. Gibbons in Nevada? Weren't you part of that “lynch mob” on a conservative Republican Governor? Of course w/ Gibbons, there was nothing but unsubstantiated allegations, w/ still nothing being proved, in fact, much has already been disproved.
You've stated to me before that you smelled a rat in Gibbons. Did you smell that same rat in Sanford? What are your feelings about Sanford?
For the record I really like Sanford but this is not good. I've been a big fan of Ensign as well, but his actions have left me disappointed as well. These are 2 guys you were spouting off about as to their virtues IIRC. Do you have the same standard for for these 2 that you have for Gibbons? Two proven adulterers vs. one alleged by the liberals in Nevada. All three seen as conservatives by their governmental actions & governance.
Are you consistent?
Gibbons had his own party turn on him on overriding his vetoes for tax increases & the domestic partnership issues. Conservative through & through. Yet you turned on him because of the liberal generated rumors (not saying whether they're true or not, but the evidence is specious at best). Are you turning on Sanford & Ensign? I await your response. Should be quite interesting.
Vitter will probably be reelected next year, but Louisiana has a French attitude towards those types of indiscretions. If Sanford wanted to be with this woman so badly, he should’ve done the honorable thing, sought a divorce, and gone on from there. He threw so much away with this, and I hope he doesn’t permanently harm his family. It’s really a shame.
Looks like where there was smoke there was fire and NOW I do condemn him for having an affair with a woman from Agentina and leaving the state with not telling anyone.
Before I wanted to know why he left the State without telling anyone including his wife and now we know. Doesn’t look like the media’s fault to me and never did. He left the door wide open.
Are some of you now ready to say his political career is over? I think it is a shame because I agreed with what he was doing. There was just something about this that didn’t fit and now he has spoken. Shame on him — couldn’t he wait until he was no longer Governor?
