WASHINGTON On Jan. 23, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down laws criminalizing abortion in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But privately, newly released tapes reveal, he expressed ambivalence. Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster permissiveness, and said that it breaks the family. But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases like interracial pregnancies, he said.
There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white, he told an aide, before adding, Or a rape.

N B4 libtard ‘foaming at the mouth’.
Well, I just adopted a new tagline for the time being..., something from Ann Coulter... :-)

I personally oppose shooting abortionists, but I do not believe in imposing my morality on others.

I think we should all start saying that when asked about the shooting of that abortionist... LOL...
FRiend, there are things that just needn’t be put into words.
Awwwwwww, Geee! Now the Left won’t like Nixon any more! And the media! The media will turn on him and start saying bad things about Tricky Dick! [/s]
i think you can make a case that nixon might have been trying to say its not a black and white issue and there are shades of gray???
or did he really mean interracial babies
Looks like the Obamacoms at the NY Slime is trying to cause a distraction. What is more important? What the long dead Nixon thought about abortion or the upcoming Cap’n Tax and Freeloader “Healthcare Program votes? STAY FOCUSED!!!!
who cares now?
Nixon is dead and would have done the political thing anyhow
and btw...most folks back then were anti black/white copulation ....like 95% at least
and today still but most are afraid to admit it since being so is ridiculously considered to make one a racist too
even though nearly all of the known world prefers to marry within their own kind
and while we’re at it, black on white baby making has precious little to do with marriage where I live
I agree with you....in fact, it makes more sense....
(crickets)
Well, this doesn't bring him any credit. Pretty bad.
In a sense this statement has some truth.
Abortion is about a genocide of black babies.
It’s not something to be proud of but the dems have been on the wrong side of civil rights every time starting with the Civil War.
Seems to me the Treason Times is desparate to help BO by introducing completely irrelevant distractions.
Big deal. So Nixon had the exact same view on abortion Margaret Sanger.
Complete distraction tactic orchestrated by Obama Brownshirts at 41st and 8th.
I see it as media driven diversionary tactics too.
Looks like Nixon was pro-choice.
Nixon was Nixon and a product of his era. If he were alive today he would be 94 years old. How many people that age hold oddball views based on their unique timeframe and environment. His views, I’m sure, are more moderate than Robert Byrds. But the left doesn’t want to go there.
Isn’t this the same views that Sanger and Planned Parenthood had/have? So, Nixon would be in sync with Democrats views on abortion.
No...they (media) are going to tie this to ‘look what Obama has overcome!!!’
Its all about Barry all the time.
