Whatever else former president George W. Bush got wrong, he was right about this at least: "The world has a clear interest in the spread of democratic values, because stable and free nations do not breed the ideologies of murder." (Speech to American Enterprise Institute, February 2003.) That is, foster liberty in the worlds most oppressive countries and watch the axis of evil bend, then break.
Look at Iran today.
True, the burden of proof is on anybody who wants to attribute a passion for liberty to Tehrans crowds. At one point, more than a million people were thought to be out disputing the announced result of their countrys election, which against all likelihood and expectation, handed power to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for another four years. Thats a lot of people demanding, "Wheres my vote?"
But, it could be about the economic shambles. Inflation is high, so is unemployment. Iran exports oil, but must import gasoline.
Ahmadinejad wasnt running on his record.
Or, they might just really prefer defeated candidate Mir Hussein Mousavi, who presents as sane, while Ahmadinejad is inflammatory and given to apocalyptic visions. (Ahmadinejad reportedly describes to friends how when he spoke at the UN in 2005, he was surrounded by an aura of divine green light: Just as some Christians are no less faithful for finding an unloving televangelist a bit much, so we shouldnt assume Iranian Muslims are all as keen as Ahmadinejad, to welcome the 12th imam and usher in historys end .)

It’s not that they don’t have the stones. They just don’t care to ask the one any hard questions.
But 0 can't do that because he knows the real reason why this is happening in Iran is because the people in Iran watched Iraq have 5 free and fair elections; they see Freedom next door and they want it too.
If the Mullahs lose power then no matter how they try to spin it they wont be able to hide the fact that the Bush doctrine worked and that going into Iraq and setting up a democracy in the heart of the Middle East changed the world and made it and the United States safer .
Militant Islam would die on the vine, Hammas and Hezbollah would crumble. Palestinians would have no choice but to seek peace; Kim Jong Il and Hugo Chavez would be left alone and twisting in the wind.
And after the dust settled there would be Berry 0bama, the one guy who "voted against the war in Iraq" (although he wasn't actually someone who could have voted at the time).
That is why Zer0 is the only President in our 233 year history who has not taken a stand for freedom.
This is Bush's Legacy
" Eventually, the call of freedom comes to every mind and every soul. We do not accept the existence of permanent tyranny because we do not accept the possibility of permanent slavery.
Liberty will come to those who love it. All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you."- President George W. Bush, 1/20/2005
God bless those seeking freedom in Iran- Let Freedom Ring!
Amen. And to that I add: You’ve never been baptized Barry, so, like, when’s that gonna happen? Yeah, right, a muslim getting baptized. That’ll be the day.
Either Obama is a closet Muslim or he is afraid of his popularity in the Islamic world taking a plunge and thwarting ACORN’s plans or both.
.... and Barry was born in Kenya!
