Guess Who Wishes Bush Was Back
Washington Post ^ | June 21, 2009 | David S. Broder

Posted on 06/22/2009 8:49:25 AM PDT by RobinMasters

In a conversation the other day with a White House official, I heard something I'd never expected from an employee of Barack Obama's. "I wish," he said, "George Bush would speak up a little more."

In the five months since he left the presidency, Bush has immersed himself in his memoir. He has stayed home in Texas and rarely spoken publicly. The result has been that he has largely disappeared from the news and -- the point the Obama aide was making -- pretty much has been forgotten.

Bush's silence has made it harder for Obama to keep the public focused on Bush as being responsible for our present difficulties -- the weak economy, the unsettled wars, the scandals of Guantanamo and the detainee program.

For all those years the liberals said GWB was stupid.

Stupid like a fox, it turns out.

Continue to lie low, Mr. President. Don’t let the Obamanistas pull that ol’ Brer Rabbit trick.

Just let the Zero agenda twist in the wind. Alone.

Obama’s numbers will be in the low 30’s by Christmas..mark my word.

From your lips (keyboard?) to God's ears (eyes?)

“Mark my word. It will not be Christmas before Obama’s numbers will be in the low 30’s. The world is looking. We elected the worst liberal 47-year-old President in American history.”

Let us remember.
When Bush came to be President in January of 2001, the economy was in the midst of a stock market scandal and collapse, all of which occurred under the watch of Clinton.
Then the events of 9-11 occurred. Even after these two hard blows to the economy, Bush policies turned the economy around and eventually attained some of the lowest unemployment numbers ever and returned the stock market to high numbers.
It was democrat meddling with the banking system and lack of good energy policy that caused our current down turn.

Of course it would never be portrayed that way by the government run media.

And that's the way it is!

"David Broder's column contains the unsurprising news that some of Obama's aides wish they could just keep running the 2008 campaign over and over again for four years."

Making promises is far easier than keeping them.

When a Dem leaks to a lap-dog hack that he wishes a Pub would keep doing what he is doing you can bet the farm that he really wishes he’d quit.

Except for his inability to get with the program on illegal aliens, I thought President Bush did pretty well.

If we survive the current administration, President Bush’s service in office we’ll come to be better appeciated over time.

I just turn off the volume when Major Garrett starts his nauseating reports on Obama...... and usually don’t watch Shepard Smith either, otherwise Fox News is ok.

Yes that was the thing I didn't like the illegal alien situation..but all the politicians were at fault for that except one I can think of and that is Duncan Hunter..

I pray every day for the down fall of the current administration..we should all have a day of prayer to ask God to show people what a criminal we have in the white house a criminal that has no right to be there because he was not born here in this country..

"...failures like Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton never shut up after they left office."

I agree about Carter, who is a total disgrace and an embarassment to our country. But I think Clinton has shown reasonable restraint since leaving office, generally expressing his different viewpoint without directly undermining Bush. It amuses me that Clinton and Bush Sr seem more comfortable appearing with each other than they are with Carter. In fact, I suspect few public figures want to be seen with Carter these days.

"Guess Who Wishes Bush Was Back"

I never took Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings as Bush supporters, especially as being Canadians.

The guy is so far over his head it would be laughable if it wasn’t so dangerous. He has no clue what is going on and waffles back and forth on every decision.

If Boy King needed an example of what a GREAT man does in a situation such as this, he need look no further than Ronaldus Magnus’ remarks on the Solidarity movement in Poland.

Unfortunately, Boy King sees himself as a GREAT man, which, so not.
