Mousavi Accuses Obama of 'Misleading the World' Sunday, June 21, 2009 1:38 PM
Author and foreign policy expert Michael Ledeen has published a letter reportedly from the office of Mir Hossein Mousavi, in which the Iranian opposition leader criticizes President Barack Obama for saying Mousavi and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad are "two of a kind."
The letter, addressed to Obama, takes the president to task for the remark, calling it "a grave and deep insult, not just to Mr. Mousavi but especially against the judgment of the Iranian people, against our moral conviction and intelligence, especially those of the young generation that comprises a population of 31 million.
"It is a specially grave insult for those who are now fighting for democracy and freedom, and an unwarranted gift and even praise for [Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei, whose security forces are now killing peaceful Iranians in the streets of every major city in the country.
"Your statement misled the people of the world."
Actually, a very good idea, thanks!
I hope some Congress critters are reading this thread!
“Why do people think their protest signs are in ENGLISH?!!!”
Exactly! Obama is dropping the whole ball.....which President Bush sent up right in front of the endzone!
Can you imagine what a better world we would live in if the Iranian regime were overthrown? This is not even about Mousavi anymore...the Iranian people want freedom and a better relationship with the west. We have been waiting for this for 30 years and Obama is blowing it!
I think Rush is back on Monday or Tuesday, I bet Rush apologizes to the Iranian people on behalf of America!
That will be great!
I realize this guy isn't perfect but he really is better than Imanutjob(for the Iranian people, not necessarily for us), he wants to end the Basij for one thing and give women back some of the freedoms they had under the Shah.
Mousavi is probably not a great guy - he was one of the founders of Hezbollah, the one who recruited Khan to work on the nukes, etc. However, the Iranians apparently thought he represented a different approach, and we should certainly support their freedom to choose an alternative to Ahmadinejad (who is a known fruitloop and probably more personally nutty than Mousavi).
The reason Obama is not supporting this particular change is that he secretly supports Ahmadinejad, who refers to Hugo Chavez as his “brother” and has spent lots of Iranian money helping Venezuela in its oil and military technology. Bambi has already expressed his admiration for Hugo, so you can connect the dots. And I suspect that Mousavi has connected them, and knows perfectly well that Obama really supports Ahmadinejad.
This protest is no longer about backing either of these candidates. There are armed mercenaries from other Iranian client states murdering unarmed people in Iran. The ruling mullahs are ordering the killing of their own people. Are there any political concerns that Obama could have that are more important than speaking out in support of freedom? I can’t think of any.
Let them GRAB!
And, who says that a Revolution has to be peaceful?
The Iranian people are ruled by thugs and criminals.
Violence is justified.
Rush will be back on Wednesday. Once again, breaking news happens when Rush is away.
>>> Obama is the enemy of freedom. <<<
You’re being too kind. He’s the enemy of anything he doesn’t see when he looks in the mirror.
Mousavi will remember those who supported him...

More importantly....the Iranian people will know that MANY, MANY in the US were supporting them. The internet really breaks down the social stigma.
(And, in this case, Obama won't do it, Obama is the one who screwed up!)
Back open and free and fair elections.
This one was obviously a fraud from the start.
Mousavi campaigned for freedom of expression and for privatization and against an alms-based economy.
The Iranian elections as they are now aren't free elections.
I would take little pride in supporting the corrupt election results and I would take little pride in shrugging-off the demonstrators.
Mislead? It’s the only kind of leadership he knows.
“We cannot give them any military support.”
Why is that?
I wonder if some ACORN members are on some of those motorcycles, attacking the protesters?
All the candidates were pre-screened (including previous Mousavi) so I’m not so sure you are on the same page as the Islamic Republic at this point. Turth is we probably are looking for the same thing but I’m very weary of what is actually happening
