10 Reasons Why Obama Will be a One-Term President
1. Barack Obama won in part because of the amount of people he inspired with the campaign slogans: "Hope and Change" and "Yes We Can." He won't be able to use these slogans in 2012, unless he starts rooting for the opposition.
2. Over saturation. The problem with electing a Celebrity President is that people get tired of celebrities after a while. The news has become the new Entertainment Weekly, with anchors reporting on the latest Obama gossip.
3. The history factor will be gone. Part of the allure of voting for Obama was wanting to see a black President. Now that it has happened, the "white guilt" vote will likely be significantly reduced.
4. The Bush wasn't so bad after all vibe. In just five short months, Cheney has clearly exploited Obama's weaknesses on fighting terrorism, while vindicating Bush. Obama may have won, partially because a great number of people went back to a September 10th mindset, due to there not being another terrorist attack in the US.
5. Iran and North Korea. Obama's been indecisive and not acting like the leader of the free world. That he has remained silent on Iran will not sit well with many people.
6. The economy. People blamed Republicans for the Recession, and many people who voted for him expected Obama to end it quickly. The American public is more impatient than prior generations that reelected FDR in slow economic times. People will not have the patience to endure a long economic crisis. If the unemployment rate stays high, expect Obama's numbers to continue to drop.
7. America is still a center-right country. Americans are conservative on most of the important issues. The Republicans need to point out that Obama's views are the opposite of most Americans.
8. Don't count Hillary out. Jimmy Carter nearly lost in the 1980 primaries to Ted Kennedy. Obama ran out of steam against Hillary in the later primaries and lost in most of the big states. If Obama continues to fail on the most important issues, Clinton might want to capitalize.
9. High expectations. Obama was portrayed as a post-racial, healer who was going to solve all the world's problems. Now that the aura is dwindling, many people might realize the promises he made were impossible.
10. The more they know, the less they like. Part of Obama's appeal was that he was an enigma. Since being elected, they've seen him crack jokes about the Special Olympics, make a public speech about the murder of an abortionist and release only a written statement on the murder of an Army recruiter.
Now if only the GOP can nominate someone who is clearly different than Obama on the most important issues and can successfully inform the public on all of Obama's failures, which the mainstream media will not cover.
Both where sacrificial old guys “their turn” theres no Mccain in 2012 thats “his turn” he will be 75 in 2011 when you need to start running.
Dole happened.
I think someone needs to figure out a way to get rid of Steele and do it fast.
Look at 1994. If the republicans regain the house, they’ll temporarily have a principled majority which will stop the liberalism and start doing something about the deficit. The economy will recover and if BHO pulls a Clinton (the other kind), he’ll be re-elected in 2012.
If pubbies endorse Sarah Palin, they’ll have a shot. If they repackage asshats like Romney or any other RINOs they’ll only hand it back to the RATs.
Thank you, dahhhhling!
#11: Over-reaching...taking his election victory as a policy mandate that actually doesn’t exist.
you’re being wishful
Yes, yes, yes, yes!
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But,
under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation,
without knowing how it happened."
~ Norman Thomas, former U. S. Socialist Presidential Candidate (1936
"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American
descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against
the back drop of a passive*, hapless sheeple*
. The final collapse has
come with the election of Barack Obama
~ Pravda, May 2009
BINGO! ....so short / concise
hit the nail on the head
The Republican leadership has been wrong to support the exportation of millions of American jobs to placate the big corporate GOP sponsors. The party gave in to special interests rather than doing the best thing for the country. Now we have nothing to distinguish ourselves from the Democrats on the economy. We could win over many millions of Democrat voters if we were strongly and truthfully against so-called free trade which is nothing more than pandering to special interests.
Just think how this would go in states like Michigan, Ohio and other manufacturing states. The GOP sold out its soul when they made deals with those monopolistic businesses. Pro-business - yes, but monopoly - never.
STOP THINKING 2012 and start focusing on 2010. Conservatives need to take over the House and/or Senate. We need to de-claw Obama and his Socialists and get out of power Nasty Nancy and Dirty Harry. We need to support and run as Many Conservatives as we can, GOP, Independents, Democrat Blue Dogs, Constitutionalists, Libertarianist etc...
Not only should we support Conservatives in the National election but also in local and state offices—even by supporting 3rd Party Candidates where they have a chance to win. We must win the school boards, the county commissioners, the Assemblies and Governorships. OUR TARGET IS TO GIVE ANY CONSERVATIVE A FOUNDATION FOR 2012!
I agree the GOP can still be socially conservative without making too much noise about it. But I think the gay-stapo agenda is ripe for the picking.
Reason #11:
A conservative state will pass a law requiring all candidates must prove ( with documentation) that they are constitutionally qualified.
The Obamabots have a short attention span, many of them are gullible young people. It will be hard for them to keep up the thrill and excitement after four years. The novelty will have worn off. I don’t say there won’t be some new Obamabots but the newness and the thrill of making history will have worn off to a great extent.
Are there any governorship races coming up this year?
