The advocacy group Health Care for America Now sent volunteers door-to-door in five cities, including Sacramento, to engage the public.
Do you agree that health care is a right, not a privilege? Moto was asked.
He nodded in agreement.
Do you have health insurance? asked Marlet Hilbert, one of the volunteers who had fanned out to increase public awareness about the health care debate.
Moto appeared startled by the question. He answered, "No."

obama sent out email to his supporters last week telling them to get ready for this community push - and to send money. So here it goes.
We should be organized enough to follow these canvasers with literature of our own.
The leftwing group says ‘Healthcare for America Now!’ Which makes one ask “We don’t have healthcare?”
45 million Americans without some sort of health coverage. We don’t know their condition either; crack/heroin/alcohol junkie, possessed gambler, homeless? So 255,000,000 already have access to coverage must suffer under socialist health for the 45 million? Tell the minority to Shut Up!
If they show up on my doorstep they will be staring down the business end of a 12 gauge shotgun.
> Moto appeared startled by the question. He answered, “No.”
“What happens when you get sick?” Hilbert asked.
“I just don’t go to the doctor,” Moto, 35, replied.<
hmmm. Let me get this right Mr. Obama-voter: your money is worth more than your health. In Mexifornia alone there are numerous low-cost and free HC programs that cater to legal and illegal residents. How do I know? My Gf is an RN at a hospital in LA and the admin staff already admitted that they are barely operating at their budget.
When they asked this guy what happens when you get sick, “I just don’t go to the doctor,” Moto, 35, replied.
This guy is an idiot.
When I was younger, I had my time without health insurance. When I got sick, I went to the Urgicare and paid cash.
What a Maroon!
Medical insurance helps insure that in the event of catastrophic medical crisis comes along, or you need surgery, in some cases you have prescription drug coverage, most of it will be paid for due to monthly fees to an insurance company. It does not guarantee you will not get sick, ever. It is NOT health insurance.
They wont be showing up on anyones door that they suspect may already have health care. They are going to doors where they know the person doesnt have health care and telling them they are entitled to another entitlement.
I agree with poster #3 get off my porch “Now”, I would add or you will be needing some health care you parasite POS.
From their (Health Care for America NOW) website:
“Our Steering Committee includes: ACORN, AFL-CIO, AFSCME, AFT, Americans United for Change, Campaign for Americas Future, Center for American Progress Action Fund, Campaign for Community Change, Childrens Defense Fund Action Council, Communications Workers of America, International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace & Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), MoveOn.org, NAACP, National Council of La Raza, National Education Association, National Womens Law Center, SEIU, UFCW, USAction, Women’s Voices, Women’s Vote and Working America.”
“...45 million Americans without some sort of health coverage...”
-
There are SOME Americans who choose not to purchase health insurance.
How many?
No one really knows.
Why?
Some mostly young folks think they just don’t need it;
...some other folks are between jobs and temporarily without insurance;
...some other folks have the means to just pay as they go;
...some folks just show up at the emergency room if they get sick.
The important point is there are NO American who do not have access to health care.
Newsflash for ya, bucko--Often times I get sick and I don't go to a doctor either! And the same for my kids...and guess what - you and I and my kids are still alive to tell the tale.
Because not every case of "sick" needs a doctorial response. How many times does a person need to hear: rest, drink lots of fluids and it'll go away in a few days. When it's free, though, Mr. Moto will be first in line to hear that sage advice each and every time because it's "his RIGHT".
This is part of the deception required to ram through "health care reform," when really what we need is tort reform. The reason health care and health insurance are so expensive is because of malpractice insurance, which is high because of huge lawsuit settlements, which are caused by personal injury lawyers and idiot juries.
"If you think health care is expsnsive now, just wait until it's free!"
P.J. O'Rourke
You are exactly correct.
My niece lived with me for a while. She got sick and would drink some OJ and got over it.
Then she got onto Medicaid. Suddenly, everything was wrong with her.
You are so right.
“Do you agree that health care is a right, not a privilege?”
Hell no, either pay for it or die and don’t ask me to help you pay for it!
First they dumb them down, then they poll them with leading questions, then they pass laws that destroy freedom, wellbeing, enjoyment, and prosperity.
That is the entire key, organization. If nothing else the election of obama should show us that.
Obama’s brownshirts. Get to know what political activity 501(c)3’s unlawfully engage in, like this outfit, and complain loud and long to your congressional rep about it!
