Lets see. Maybe a basic history lesson intended for the youth of Iran. Freedom is not free.

A couple hundred years ago we had some white men, mostly if not all—Christian, that pledged something about— our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

If you yutes of Iran really seek more freedom, you best stand up for it cause this sucker aint bout goin yo way. Best to ya.

The challenger is only a degree better than the mugocracy now in power. In fact he was the mugocracy in the past. But the people in the streets really want a fair election, and maybe this result will yield small gains toward that future end.

come on man, what is he suppose to do? Kill another fly to show how tough he is? In fact, Obama is letting this escalate because he wants to learn how Khamenei puts down his enemies. It’s what Buttcrack will do when we start to protest his fascist like administration.

Iran doesn't have a Second Amendment.

You are coming in late ont this story. It is not a question of what Obama should do "now". It was what he should'be done, like past presidents, when this whole Iranian thing started. The Europeans spoke out long ago while Obama remained silent. Not exactly the leadership position of the US.

But, GWB is far too much a gentleman to do such a thing, and undermine the current President.

Yea but if GWB really believed what he said about freedom in the mid east being the way... then he needs to do it...

I've asked this twice now. Got an answer?

Now look who's the the one posting smart-alick remarks. You won't even answer your own question.

How about this: “Our sympathies are with the people, not the government.”

Simple. Direct. Leadership.

Obama failed even that simple a statement. Couldn't even muster any statement of moral support for those that want freedom and liberty. A week of silence. That's not leadership. That is indecision and weakness.

The President of the United States is viewed, no matter the occupant, as leader of the free world. Mr. Obama failed in that role towards the people of Iran.

It may not have been preventable the events in Iran, but he has no moral authority to make any statements about freedom and liberty after a week of just standing by and saying nothing. Even the French and Germans are supporting the people of Iran. Obama..."As I said in Cairo."

And once again, why don't you go see the video and photos of the brutality and slaughter of the Iranian people before you castigate people for calling Obama the coward he is.

I say we turn it over to the Florida Supreme Court and have them tell us whether a partial recount is constitutional or not

How about this: “Our sympathies are with the people, not the government.”

Oh, you want him to say some WORDS.
Yeah, that'll help.

And once again, why don't you go see the video and photos of the brutality and slaughter of the Iranian people before you castigate people for calling Obama the coward he is.

Seen 'em.

And I didn't castigate anyone for calling him a coward, I asked what you would suggest he do.

Now you have given an answer.

You think he should say some words.

Awesome. That will fix everything, won't it?

Why don't you have some real guts and answer your own question? That's because I gave you one that you didn't like and now you sit behind you computer being a smart-alack childish ass. How brave of you (not).

Reagan said those words about Poland with enormous success and no American bloodshed. Guess what? Poland won their freedom.

Sometimes you use words, sometimes an army. Obama lacks the moral courage to use either one with wisdom and clarity in support of freedom and liberty. He prefers to appease and dine with tyrants and dictators.

"As I said in Cairo." Weak and pathetic.

I read yesterday that the opposition leader Mousavi, was one of the founders of Hezbollah... and this headline reads...Hezbollah Thug Basij (Iran govt soldiers for hire) Throwing Protestors Into Fires

So they win and get Mousavi... and Khamenei gets the boot? What's the difference? The next guy is still in the same circle of 7th century thinkers.

I say Islam is the problem. It is directly opposed to freedom... yet they are all yelling " Allah Akbar"???

It's all about freedom... yet Islam does not allow freedom.

It's so confusing.

Hmmm, seems like other countries are stepping in and at least offering aid to wounded demonstrators so they won’t have to go to state-run hospitals (where we know they’ll be arrested and convenient die in jail). I know we don’t have an embassy there, but at least our “President” can attempt to do something ... afterall, the WHOLE WORLD loves him. He can say ANYTHING. SOMETHING.

CBS reporter Mark Knoller reports that the president decided today of all days would be a good time for a leisurely trip to the ice-cream parlor:
