Commendable CNN Coverage of Iran Riots! (Vanity)
Posted on 06/20/2009 9:38:19 AM PDT by parisa
Though a longtime freeper, this is my first ever vanity here.
I felt it's important to post this vanity about CNN's coverage of the post so-called "elections" in Iran which in my opinion has been one of the best and most thorough in this country. I have already sent them an email thanking them for their excellent coverage because contrary to the left which never acknowledges anything positive on the right, we should, and do, give credit where credit's due.
THEREFORE, THANK YOU CNN FOR FINALLY -- AND SO FULLY AND TRUTHFULLY -- COVERING THE MASS PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT FOR DEMOCRACY IN IRAN!

What? When I was 10 years old, I found 5 years to be a very very long time. It was half my life. How old are you?

In 1979, a weak US President abandoned Iran - In 2009, a weak US President abandons Iran.
What was old, is new again.

I agree. Their numbers and a lot of Amanpour’s reporting should be taken with a grain of salt, but for now, in the US, CNN is all we’ve got for thorough Iran news through the networks.

Almost anything newsworthy by CNN which concerns politics is to be viewed with some reservations. Of course if there is a natural disaster or say, a plane crash, then the televised news brings on factual coverage. Often first class journalism is evident. There can hardly be any spin on the actual event. Now the MSM might spin the event against a President in the past. Say George W. Bush and the New Orleans flood.
I can be rightfully accused of a jaundiced outlook here. This is what could be happening. In some way the CNN could be hoping for a debacle and then credit President Obama with his words for the change in Iran belligerence. Change in a chastened regime. Sort of evoking President Reagan's "Tear down these walls" speech.
Somehow I think that CNN has an absolute agenda at all times- we shall see.
To: parisa
Well I just switched over to check CNN and they were in full CYA mode for Obama on his Iran stance or lack thereof.

I replied to the friend all that action does is reinforce what a spineless s$%t weve got sitting at 1600 Penn Ave.....
To Hell with him!
His irrelevancy to these events is eye-opening, but let's see how long this narcissist can resist interjecting himself!

Think the election wasn’t rigged???
Amanpour???
She was probably one of the CONSULTANTS they used in establishing the rigging mechanisms.

My opinion is that they are hedging their bets.
In case the revolutionaries prevail, they will say that “See, the Obama new tone is already sowing the seeds of democracy, even without us meddling”
These people are devious enough to think that far...

I totally agree with you about Amanpour. She was bought and paid for long ago when the mullahs gave back her family belongings and property confiscated after their takeover of Iran.
How cheaply some sell their soul.

Actually- I tried watching CNN- managed until Christianne Amanpour came on and I gave up. Her entire approach is pro mullah.I don't know if she's pro-mullah, but she is definitely anti-American. I think of her as a Euroslut who got her current position by liberal use of kneepads.
