Fred- Last night, Marco Rubio won the Pasco County GOP's straw poll, 73-9, illustrating the growing support for our movement at the grassroots level. The St. Petersburg Times described the result as "a sign of the governor's poor standing among some of his historically strongest supporters." They go on to note, Pasco is just one county removed from his home in Pinellas, for one, and the Pasco REC also endorsed Crist early in his 2006 GOP primary against Tom Gallagher." We've got a long way to go until Primary Day, but victories like this help demonstrate the growing momentum behind Marco's campaign. The national media is also starting to take notice. Appearing on "MSNBC Live with Carlos Watson" earlier today, Marco was introduced as "a man who might be the answer to the GOP's problems." He then made his case to a national audience about why conservative principles are needed now more than ever. I hope you will take a moment watch the video of Marco's segment at http://MarcoRubio.com and forward it on to your friends and family. Proud to Stand, Brian Seitchik, Campaign Manager |

I believe the majority of us ARE conservative but, the ‘voices’ for our party are RINO’s since that’s what the lamestream media seeks out as our front people. that’s why you see the likes of McLame and Grahamnesty, Collins and Snowe (and not long ago, Specter) as the point people they’d always have on to talk about things from ‘our’ perspective.
Follow me? We need the LSM to FAIL. Then maybe we have a better chance of getting the word out about what real conservatism is.
That’s not to mention governors.
Then we need more people like Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, etc.
Then I assume we need local names.
Yeah I think you are right. It is same RNSC that was run by our Senator Ensign last go around. I still haven’t figured out what they were doing last year but they seem to be doing the same thing this go round. They won’t be getting a penny from me. I’ll be supporting the candidates endorsed by the
Senate Conservative Fund Pac created by Jim DeMint.

It would be nice if SarahPac and FredPac could join forces with DeMint. We need new leadership and the best way to get rid of the hand wringing Machiavellis that hold the reigns now is to just to go around them. We do not need leaders who cower like dogs trying to hold ground. We need leaders who are patriots of the kind who would’ve held ground with the likes of William Prescott at the battle of Bunker Hill. We need a revolution not of blood but of those who will not retreat in word or deed.

That would be nice. A Palin/DeMint ticket would be nice as well.
So a “traitor” is someone who does not agree with you on EVERY single issue?
To paraphrase Ronaldus Maximus, “A man who is 80% my friend is not 20% my enemy”.
More good news: according to Marco Rubio himself on Twitter, he won Monroe County’s straw poll as well.
It’ll be great when a grassroots campaign puts him over the top in the primaries.
Might be a good idea to thoroughly check this guy out before jumping on the bandwagon. Might be embarrassing for tons of people if it’s discovered he’s got some SERIOUS skeletons in his closet.
Get real.
She's a woman, but she's "manlier" than 99% of the GOP. Same goes for Michele Bachmann.
If half the men in the GOP had half the moxie of Sarah Palin, liberalism would be over in this country.
If this man is for illegal immigration; then I am not for him. It is that simple.
If this is true, he is just another RINO. We really don’t need him. The whole point is to get rid of the RINOS.
Me either.
You have hit the nail on the head - our options.
The GOP is giving us very little in the way of viable options.
Sure, we can all sit here and bitch about not having true conservatives and vote for a candidate that isn’t going to win. Obama made his way into the White House for that very reason!!
On the other hand, we need to make our voices very loud and very clear - the base voters of the GOP will not tolerate RINO’s and as long as the party promotes Dem-Lite, they will lose our dollars and our assistance.
It’s obvious to anyone who’s been part of the GOP for years that the party has moved so far away from it’s core values and platform that conservatives have no real voice within the GOP. This leaves us with two basic choices
1. Support RINO candidates that are forced onto us removing any influence the conservative base once had with the party.
2. Force the GOP kicking and screaming if needed to go back to a platform of conservative values by refusing to give a single penny or a seconds worth of volunteer time.
Either way we lose. The GOP has moved so far away from their base it will take years to remove RINO’s from positions of power and elected office.
As conservatives we must put aside our own differences for the good of the country and support candidates that most closely resemble the conservative platform - as long as the base continues to be divided we accomplish nothing except to give this country over to the Dems.
There is no one person that will move the party back to it’s core values. We need multiple candidates all over the country who support our values.
Do you trust Jim DeMint?

You’re damn tootin’ Screw the rest of the posers. She’s the real and only deal...
No, I don’t consider putting some one else forth trashing her. I just consider it tilting at windmills. I ‘settled’ for McCain - it was the last time.
You and I would be better than Crist!
I agree. You need to get real.
There are so many important conservative issues that single-issue (litmus test) conservatives do as much harm to conservatives as the MSM.
Championing the end of statism is the solution to the GOP’s problems. Will they do it? Probably not.
