Running battles in Terhan with police as the tyranical mullah regime attempts to end protests.
URGENT: HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT IRANIAN PROTESTORS RIGHT NOW...ON TWITTER
AMERICANS SUPPORTING IRAN LIBERTY ON FACEBOOK
The people in these photos look old enough to have been closet Shah supporters.
Thank You James Earl Carter (not)...
IIRC, the tipping point for the 1979 Iranian Revolution was when military units started defecting and joining up with the protestors. The Shah, at that point, realized the gig was up and decided to leave.
I only hope the military decides to come in on the side of the protestors. I have no faith in the Revolutionary Guards to do so but maybe the regular armed forces will.
Thanks Jeff and Lucy.
I joined twitter today, living in Tehran. :-)
Wanna take bets that Obie-the-one will be on the golf course tomorrow?
Go Iranians! Smash State!
I think all of the talk in the media about a divide inside the White house is bogus. These are all trial balloons being sent out by the White House, both for and against a hard line statement.
I do know what President Bush and Ronald Reagan would be talking about. They wouldn’t have to say anything for or against the current regime or take the side of the protesters.
They would simply come out several times a day and support everyone’s God given right to self determination and show that history is not on the side of dictators and it will fall now or later but it will fall.
They would be pointing out that no government that by force prevents its people from having freedom of choice will ever last because it is directly contrary to all biblical teachings and God will not let it stand.
They would be encouraging a new election that is supervised by Iraq or Afghanistan, who know first hand how hard it will be for both sides to change as they move toward freedom.
That is the real story. The Iranians don’t have weapons to overthrow the Mullahs. OTOH, theres plenty of weapons in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Gaza, Syria, and there hasn’t been any real peace in those areas either.
If the Iranian protesters win, will they be pro-western?
parsy, who is confused about it all.
CNN should it unedited at 6 PM today
CNN showed Neda murder unedited at 6 PM today
Does the (I assume) Farsi script in the green stripe, read “Freedom”?
Nope.
It is Parsi/Farsi and it reads “Azadi”, or “Freedom.”
thanks!
