Senate's slavery apology includes reparations caveat

The U.S. Senate, by unanimous consent, passed a resolution apologizing for slavery and racial segregation, according to reports.

Republican Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, one of the sponsors, said the measure was no “panacea,” but could help trigger “reconciliation.”

REAL African Americans (those that were born in Africa) would surely not be eligible. But there are very few REAL African-Americans... and some of them are caucasion.

I’m thinking I would be very justified in saying “hell no” and putting my foot down; how many people in the US have owned slaves (even non-citizens)? Out of how many people total? And, let’s see... SLAVERY’S BEEN ILLEGAL FOR GENERATIONS!
