I’m part Cherokee Indian, I demand the right to govern myself and to be exempt from Federal income tax.

Neither I, nor any members of my family for as many generations I can trace, had slaves, and therefore I HAVE NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR, NOR WILL I PAY ANY REPARATIONS.

Should be

(2) This resolution serves as a settlement of any claim against the United States.

At some point the powers that be must declare "we've done everything we can, including sacrifice 600,000; the issue is done and over with. Move on."

I want the descendants of the people who *sold* folks into slavery to apologize.

There is no slave trade without a buyer AND a seller.

Let me offer my apology for everything bad that has ever happened. Now that I have joined twits like Brownback, I feel so much better.

“any one that was a slave should be paid reparations...”

Yes. By their former owners.

Maybe you should get your Non-Indian blood to apologize and pay reparations to your Cherokee blood.

“The country is bankrupt; someone tell the Socialists in the Congress the $$ is gone.”

That doesn't phase them.

They're running through our money, our children's money and now our grand kids money. The sky is the limit for the hopeless “change” the dumb *** sheeple wanted.
Why bother to attack a country that is willingly self destructing? So maybe the "war on terror" is over since Obama is doing the job of a terrorist. Even terrorists are puzzled and laughing at U.S..

As long as victimhood is a lucrative business we will never be “post racial.”

Such a craven act of stupidity will hardly trigger reconciliation. It will encourage another generation of claimed grievance based agitation and fragmentation. It will help no one but demagogues. It will undermine heritage and concepts of cultural continuity, introducing more apologetic Americanism, at a time when we are already awash in such madness.

This sort of thing makes one despair of the level of thinking in Congress, the moral fiber of Congress, and the independence of individual members.

The slave traders who captured and sold slaves were Muslims from Kenya.

There is no slave trade without a buyer AND a seller.

We've already apologized to the sellers. That was when Bush went to Africa and apologized for the fact that we bought the slaves they had up for sale.
