Sen. Barbara Boxer of California instructs Brigadier General Michael Walsh not to call her "ma'am," the sign of respect shown by members of the military towards non-military ... she wants to be called "Senator," because gosh darn it, she worked hard for that position.

it is times like this when i wish the senate had a space set aside for ordinary americans to watch the procedings and exercise their right to freedom of speech. this “peanut gallery” would be allowed to comment on all of the business at hand, ask questions of the senators and anyone testifying, and blow loud raspberries at any and all stupidity. can you imagine the response from said peanut gallery on that one..... singing “ i can call you betty and betty when you call me you caaalll mee al, call me al”
