I sent them a letter.

I got a very good response.

I said I was not complaining about only this Palin incident, but in general the constant Conservative bashing.

I told them I would not go to their restaurant if their advertising was on programs that constantly call me and other conservative republicans evil

Letterman NEVER apologized for calling Palin a "slutty flight attendant." He also only apologized AFTER pressure came, and this was his second attempt (and still lame). I give him no credit. He's a bully and a jerk. He needs to pay a huge price. Watch him scream "freedom of speech" soon.

And if/when he does, his sponsors should say, "The First Amendment says, 'Congress shall make no law abridging...the freedom of speech.' We're not Congress."

Got this e-mail from Hellman's Mayonnaise:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your disappointment with the program content which contained a commercial for a Unilever product. We never wish to offend anyone and your opinions are appreciated regarding this subject matter. Advertising for Hellmann’s or media buys are done months in advance and unfortunately we can’t foresee issues in the media before they come up. We appreciate the feedback from our consumers and we’ve decided to pull our online ads from the Letterman show from our advertising schedule moving forward.

We hope that this information has given you a better understanding of our advertising practices. Thank you again for taking the time to share your views with us. You can be assured that your comments will be considered as we continue to challenge our perceptions about what is appropriate for us in today's environment.

Kind regards,

Your friends at Hellmann’s/Best Foods

Keep the heat on. Eventually, CBS executives will pull their cerebral cortex out of their gluteus maximus.

It sucks that any advertiser will cave in to political pressure.

From whichever side.

Both “apologies” were BS, he changed his story and he never really made any sense when he tried to explain himself. The bottom line is he thought he could say whatever he wanted about any member of her family and suffer no consequences, he thought wrong.

Their ‘Tour of Italy’ just got even more delicious.

I'm a serious Olive Garden addict. Now I can enjoy their food again. I wrote Olive Garden I would not go back as long as they sponsored David Letterman. Now (phew!!!) their bottomless salad bowl is heading my way again!!
