If Obama is investigated it HAS to be racially motivated.

Of course! /s

But after the events of the past few days, between Michelle's email scandal and the firing of the IG there is no reason whatsoever to refrain from asking for and insisting on as much investigative reporting as possible on these two.

The gloves need to come off even if it's only the FReepers doing it. But I have a hunch there is growing outrage over the blatant double-standards and corruption of this marxist regime and its media concubines.

it is possible that Obama behaved irrationally in firing the inspector general

otoh, it's possible that Zero is acting entirely in character - he got rid of all his opposition in Chicago, by hook or by crook, and even got rid of Hillary in a way. Of course it cost him a 'UN special envoy to Haiti' position for billyboy and SOS for Hillary, and who knows what it cost him to pull off the Blagovich stuff, but even so...a lot of roads are leading straight to the White House lately. Zero is right about one adjective he's used to describe himself - it's his audacity that stands out most about him.

-- The action was irrational because it would obviously court sharp public disapproval but to no identifiable gain for the administration. ... Was there something really at stake here that Obama had to keep hidden? Does this guy have something on Obama? Is the skulduggery very very deep with a history that might implicate Obama himself? --

From what I gather, Walprin was quite effective at finding waste and corruption, had a good case against Kevin Johnson and St. HOPE Academy, and was building a good ($75 million) case against The Teaching Fellows project at the City University of New York.

Those cases put AmeriCorps in a bad light, probably deservedly so, and AmeriCorps is about to undergo a 300% or so expansion under the recently-passed Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (H.R.1388 - GIVE Act), increasing the number of direct government-paid positions from 75,000 to 250,000.

Do any of the investigated cases (or shutdown of cases) implicate Obama directly? I don't know. But oversight is an impediment to Chicago-style politics and Chicago-style community organizing / favoritism.

In the Kevin Johnson, St. HOPE Academy case, the Acting US Attorney who is complaining about Walprin (Lawrence G. Brown) seems more interested in covering up waste and fraud and keeping consequences from flowing to the waster and fraudsters, than in working as part of a tag team with the Office of Inspector General. Did somebody in the WH apparatus pressure Brown?

But it is normally more prudent practice to assume that your enemy is acting in his own best interest and will do what is to his advantage.

I'd normally agree with that statement, but in this case I think there are unusual factors in play.

First, Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine. Thug tactics ("you have 1 hour to resign") are the norm in Chicago. Given his recent string of unchallenged actions with the banks and car companies I believe Obama thinks he is bullet proof and can act with a heavy hand.

Secondly, being from Chicago Obama assumes everyone is a political animal. It turns out Walpin is a man of integrity who acts with a sense of honor. Obama was unprepared for that kind of behavior.

Finally, Walpin is 77 years old and has nothing to lose. He is not a rising political star trying to protect his future.

Interesting analysis. The one thing that keeps me asking if Michelle is in the middle of this is that her chief of staff Jackie Norris, was abruptly moved to a senior staff position at Americorps.

It just strikes me that the desire to get funding to Americorps/ACORN is far more desperate among democrats than normal. Its almost like they’re afraid of not giving them funding. Lets not forget that the democrats wanted to give ACORN over 100 billion dollars.

Are soros and obama holding information over the heads of the democrats? The democrats are getting trampled by Obama right along with the republicans and they can’t be happy about it but still they remain mostly silent.

I just heard Sen Grassley on FOX discussing this- Gretchen said that now one of Walpin’s former staffers has come forward (anonymously, so far) to say none of the allegations about him are true.

I see legs growing...

Obama’s first scandal, with Michelle’s finger prints all over it..

A bridge too far for Obomo
The dismissed inspector general is on Glenn Beck
He is going public and he ain't going away

I sure hope he has hired an excellent security staff. For this very reason, 0bama and his administration will view him as more than dangerous.

Is all this going to get in the way of carrying out the Census? If AmeriCorps and ACORN can't do the Census, what will we all do????
