(WXYZ) - Workers in Michigan are again feeling the stinging effects of the struggling economy. According to Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, Michigan's unemployment rate continues to worsen.

The unemployment rate jumped from 12.9 percent in April to 14.1 percent in May.

“Major events continued to unfold in Michigan’s auto industry in May, which had a considerable impact on the state’s unemployment rate,” said Rick Waclawek, director of DELEG’s Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives. “Curtailed production negatively influenced suppliers and other related sectors, resulting in further weakening in the labor market.

Michigan’s jobless rate in May was the highest monthly rate recorded in the state since July 1983.

“It’s especially funny when you see them not know why such things are happening to them. Such denial borders on psychosis.”

But the problem is they think they know what is happening; it is that evil Bush and those damn Republicans that are causing this.......

I bet you vote in another democrat governor again too.

We had Blanchard for 8 years to screw things up, Engler came in and just started to get things right then Granholm got elected... twice.

One of the reason I left that state was the idiot voters there in the cities who were a black hole of money from the state.

The bunch of idiots that are left there got what they deserve.
Do what your Union Bosses tell you. Vote for the people your Union Bosses tell you to vote for. When the company you work for has a downturn, threaten to strike as you are told to do by your overpaid Union Bosses tell you. ANd in the end you will find the paradise your Union Bosses and their cronies promised.
UNIONIZM IS NOTHING BUT AN ORGANIZED CRIME SCAM THAT HAS NOTHING OF REAL BENEFIT FOR THE WORKER THAT THEY CANNOT GET FOR THEMSELVES.

I read a recent article about county governments in Michigan that are tearing up miles of worn pavement and converting some of their roads back to gravel in order to save money.

Another article described a growing number of residents in some Michigan cities who now engage in "urban hunting" to feed themselves . . . people literally hunt for squirrels, raccoonds, etc. for food and to sell the pelts.

That state is regressing before our very eyes.

When Granny was running for re-election, didn't she say something about if Michiganders re-elected her, she'd change the state so much that it would ”knock your socks off”, and how “they wouldn't recognize the place”. Well, she got that right. The ‘Rats took over and the state went from an industrial giant to a cesspool. They used to be the world leader in automotive manufacturing, now in Detroit the major industries are crack houses, and most jobs are in carjacking and strong-arm robberies. But, you know, the state voted for Obimbo by a double-digit margin, so it's Change You Can Believe In. How's that working out, Michiganders?

Hmmm. . . how did Michigan vote last November?

I do not feel a bit sorry for them, they wanted 0bama now he throws them under the bus, plus 1,000s times more out of work, destroys pension funds, bond holders etc etc etc.

Let them suffer like the rest of us

I will tell them that to their face, up close and personal.

Libs and socialists beware!!!!

It’s fun to watch liberals suffer as a result of their own actions

Sorry, I disagree....14% unemployment rate is no laughing matter

Personally, I am waiting for the summer riots.

I think that Obama has raised expectations so high among the poor, that when they begin to see that no one will hand them $1,000 a week for doing nothing, many will actually riot.

I see a long hot summer of unrest.

Yeah..and the new CAFE standards and mini cars will bail them out. There will be more cuts in the auto industry..and some parts suppliers are going to go broke.
CA isn’t far behind.

And Grandmole , the illustrious governor, has said (when campaigning for re-election) she’s “chafing at the bit” and “can’t wait” to sign a statewide smoker ban some day in all bars, restaurants, and hospitality industry businesses. That should be good for another 20% or so. And the f****ng IDIOTS there will elect her for life to other positions . I can always smell a career politician. A Canadian who married an american and brought her socialism with her.

Then I would bet it much higher than what’s being reported. West Michigan has been hit HARD since December.

But, but I thought Obama was taking care of them through the unions.

Oh, I forgot, the union bosses take the money and run.
