So which is it? If the 'Rats get a pass on this kind of "humor", so should the 'Pubs. If the 'Rats are going to play the "offended" card at every 'Pub gaffe, then then 'Pubs should be free to play the same game against the 'Rats.

When liberals would get their knickers in a twist about these sorts of things I said it was silly and it wrong. I was in good company and a very large conservative crowd when I said that again and again over the years. The principles haven't changed here but the crowd seems to have gotten smaller now that it is "our guys" playing the "I'm offended" card.

My principles haven't changed just because the tactic worked for somebody else and it appears that it might be useful now.

On the other hand, the best way to defeat an enemy’s tactic is to make it apply to them.

I'm just tired of the double standard. If the 'Rats won't change then we're always going to be the ones getting beat up. The 'Rats play the victim card and start whining whenever they are offended and we end up being the bad guys. When they insult us we are the ones who are supposed to just man up, bend over, and take it, and if we don't, we're the bad guys again because we don't have a sense of "humor".

I'm tired of taking it in the butt from the 'Rats and the media. If they want to play it clean, then I'm with that. If they are going to play dirty, I'm just tired of them screwing us, and it's awfully hard to keep turning the other cheek and play the gentleman while they beat our brains out. The principle here, in case it isn't obvious, is fairness. Don't apply one standard to one side and another to the other.
