'BOY BLUNDER' GENDER TEST (home baby-sex test to be used before abortion cut-off date inaccurate)

A group of New York moms has filed suit against the makers of a "99.9-percent accurate" baby-gender test, claiming the results they got were 100 percent wrong.

The product was advertised as "infallibly accurate in foretelling the gender of a healthy baby," and its Web site said the "prediction of your baby's gender is unmistakably correct or we will double your money back."

The Baby Gender Mentor is touted as allowing women as little as five weeks pregnant to tell if they're expecting a boy or a girl, the suit says.

That's nine to 13 weeks sooner than parents normally find out from a sonogram or amniocentesis and typically the cutoff point for abortions

Keven Duffy, 41, said she took the test three years ago "on the sly" in hopes of being able to surprise her husband with the news that they were going to have a son. The couple already had a daughter, and was hoping for a boy for "family balancing."

She double-checked the results with the company, and "they said for sure it's a boy" -- so she told her hubby the good news. Several weeks later, a sonogram revealed they were having a girl.

"I feel they're just tricksters," she said

The company allegedly told her it wouldn't refund her money unless there was a live birth and she sent them an original birth certificate -- and then stopped returning her calls. The flip-flop "caused stress" in her marriage,

In fairness, if your baby’s nursery is the size of the Parthenon you may legitimatly need the extra nine to thirteen weeks to complete painting it pink or baby blue before the due date.

Does not sound like much of a marriage to begin with is the sex of a child is a deal breaker. When we were having kids, all I prayed for was a healthy baby. I really didn't give a damn if it was a boy or a girl.

So how many of these women aborted children simply because it was the “wrong” gender, only to end up with that gender anyway?

She said that she wanted to “surprise” her husband with a certain type of baby. Perhaps daddy said “what? You killed several of my daughters without even TELLING me you’d gotten pregnant in the past?”

The ONLY reason for an early test is to allow for an abortion if it is the wrong gender.

I just had a baby in January and belonged to an online birth club and many women were suckers and spent the $35 or dollars to buy this test. It wasn't to abort but just out of excitement to find out the sex. Result: 50% were right and 50% were wrong. I didn't buy it because to me it was clearly a gimmick.

The first picture is of "Keven Duffy" from Facebook, who lists her political heros as "Barak Obam, Joe Biden." There can't be many chicks on this planet named "Keven Duffy," right? The second picture is identified as "New York Mom" by the NY Post. Looks like the same person to me, but I posted this article because the article indicated that Duffy couldn't produce a birth certificate to get her money back. Looks like the error and the law forced her to have the baby girl after all, and I have no doubt she's thrilled that things worked out the way they did.

Reading further into post 11, it wouldn’t suprise me if our fair Keven is fighting this lawsuit on principle. After all, if abortion is legal, then why shouldn’t mothers have the right to know the sex of the fetus and abort it if that sex is inconvenient? Fertilized embryos are just blobs with no human rights after all.

Abortion is only used in those extreme circumstances that pro(had)-aborts use to justify abortion in general.

You know - rape, incest, severe birth defects.

That’s all we ever hear about from them. Never for gender selection, birth control, convenience, or because of coercion.

I hear what your saying, but just try passing a law forbidding abortion for gender selection. NARL would still throw everything they had against it, even though the bill would be obviously symbolic.
