California gets no bailout love from White House

California hoped that their dire economic predicament might get enough sympathy from the Obama administration to get a GM-style bailout. Sympathy, the White House has in abundance, but not cash — at least not for self-indulgent states who don’t want to exercise some fiscal discipline. The White House finally drew the line on throwing cash at the insolvent:

The ones getting the bailout are ones the government can change to be more like them. California is just like them therefore no money!

It is to laugh!

No cash for the self indulgent states and yet almost every politician at the Federal level is indulging in an orgy of spending that will topple the free world.

More likely throwing money at Calif means less money to spend on national health care.

At this point, I think that is their #1 priority. Everything else takes a back seat.

Not that Obama and most Dems need bother with so pesky a trifle as some dusty document drafted by dead white men, but where in the US Constitution is there provision for any such nonsense?

I didn’t vote for Obama, and got him anyway.

We could make a big dent in California’s deficit if we eliminated unfunded mandates.

Caifornia gets spit back from the feds v. revenue sent to the feds annually.. and we have two lead liberal senators to boot, yup, california is getting taken to the cleaners for years from both ends.

Now O fails to pile on the dough to save the base that insanely voted him in. poetic justice or just bad karma?

I don't know if it was hypnotic state accomplished with the use of NLP (as suggested by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons) or a nice Kenyan witchcraft incantation picked up during a visit to the old country, but there is little doubt that he cast a spell over a big chunk of the populous and they are still under his control.
