Consultant Mike Murphy: GOP Facing Ice Age (Says GOP needs homosexuals to break the ice)

A Republican renewal could still be possible, according to Murphy, because "conservatism is traditionally energized by a reaction to liberal excess, and the unabashedly leftish tilt of the Obama administration's domestic agenda does give hope. But demography is a powerful force."
Republicans need to become more socially libertarian on issues such as gay rights to appeal to young voters, and to support practical immigration reform to win more of the Latino vote, Murphy suggests, adding:
"Saving the GOP is not about diluting conservatism but about modernizing it to reflect the country it inhabits instead of an America that no longer exists."

This guy is a consultant? No wonder we are losing. Regardless of how you feel about gay rights and gay marriage this logic is left wanting. Barrack Obama ran opposing gay marriage. How many young folks do you know who vote with that issue in mind if they vote at all? Prop 8 garnered better than 40% of the youth vote after a bit of advertising. Why doesn't the GOP start selling a message and fighting for what it believes in rather than always contemplating selling out as a way to win votes? This guy is a dumbass, he is the little bird on the rhinos back eating dead skin and fleas.

Virtually every place people have gotten a vote on gay marriage they’ve opposed it. Hell I even know gays who oppose it.

Consultant Mike Murphy This guy, and many like him, have been running the GOP show for years now. When will conservatives wake up to this?

What does sexual orientation, gender, or race have to do with:
1. Lower Taxes

Homos? What do they make up - about 2 to 4 percent of the population? And THEY are going to save the GOP?
I think his slide rule slipped during some calculations.

Earth to Mike. The homosexuals have a party that kisses their ass constantly. What do you suggest the right do to bring them on board? Hell, I’m afraid to know the answer?
No thanks bud. I know you’re trying to ‘fix’ the party, but I don’t think I want it ‘fixed’ like that.
That ‘fixed’ would be akin to being neutered. Give that up. We already are.

We wonder why our candidates lose when they have people like this advising them? This is just stupid. No significant number of votes are won by ceding to social liberalism. The reverse is true. You will not pick up more Hispanic, black or ethnic votes by becoming more socially liberal the reverse has shown to be true. This illustrates how insane our political class is. Nothing else can explain it. They are insane.

Support the homos and loose the religious and rural vote, but you do gain some really snappy fashion suggestions.

Mr. Murphy doesn't even know that a buzz cut is appropriate for his hair challenged head at this stage of his life so why would anybody take advice from him on the appearance of the Republican Party to certain interest groups.
While I won't be winning any hair contests, I knew when it was time to go back to the Army recruit cut. Like the man said, no rugs, no drugs, no plugs and for goodness sake no freakin' combovers.
