Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.
"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads.
CBS declined to comment Tuesday.

Hitting them below the belt, hard, often, is always the best way to see savor and enjoy the results.
...and dead people from Chicago dont stay at hotels!
Great Anti-Acorn sign/bumper sticker trying to work its way out of that sentiment....
MetLife is the poster child for the industry’s motto to: NEVER PAY A CLAIM! (at least not to a Republican). Always assume you have to talk to a supervisor just to get up to high school dropout status in the company...should get you back into the USA from where ever their call center is eventually, if you wait long enough! INSURANCE...LETTERMAN deserve each other!
Just what See BS needs...fewer advertizers to go along with it’s ever shrinking audience. No wonder they have their leftist man groveling at Sarah’s feet.
I wish that would be true, for some Libs it will be, for many others, it won't..
Actually, she looks a lot like him. (Trademark of a narcissist -- marry your twin.)
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding your disappointment with the program content which contained a commercial for a Unilever product. We never wish to offend anyone and your opinions are appreciated regarding this subject matter. Advertising for Hellmann's or media buys are done months in advance and unfortunately we cant foresee issues in the media before they come up. We appreciate the feedback from our consumers and weve decided to pull our online ads from the Letterman show from our advertising schedule moving forward. [emphasis mine]
We hope that this information has given you a better understanding of our advertising practices. Thank you again for taking the time to share your views with us. You can be assured that your comments will be considered as we continue to challenge our perceptions about what is appropriate for us in today's environment.
Kind regards,
Your friends at Hellmann's/Best Foods
Sounds like a jerk.
Going forward, anyone who encounters this sort of thing should say, "Are you saying that a good Democrat should endorse the rape of children?"
My reply from Lexus was very cordial and apologetic, but at the end of the letter they tried to sell me a car!
Her taste in morals ain't so hot, either. They lived together for 25 years and their poor little "mistake" was five years old before Dave married her.
I thought Imus had something to do w/CBS in addition to msnbc.
I emailed and did NOT receive a reply. Can you post the address and I will try again. Thanks.
Letterman’s dad had a heart attack at the age of 36 when little David was about five, he lived in dread of his father’s death for 21 years until his dad’s heart finally gave out.
Nine years ago, Dave was rushed from the doctor’s office to the hospital for a quadruple bypass after going in for a routine physical; since his return to late-night TV Letterman has been torn between two fears — dying on stage and “dying” on stage.
Looks like fear and fate may finally meet.
You are right. But - I don’t feel it does anything if we act the same as they acted when we complained about how they acted.
If you complain because Dave wants in a room with muddy feet and to teach him how it feels for someone to come in with muddy feet, you stomp in the mud and walk into his house with muddy feet, what do you say then? “There - huh?”
He looks and sees that you are just the same as him standing in a room with muddy feet - so you have nothing to talk about. How can you chastise him for his behavior - when your feet are muddy too?
Better to have the whole room turn to see that only Dave was rude enough, impolite enough, and crude and publicly unacceptable enough to draw criticism.
Right we stand up and fight and we quit ever worrying about our actions causing the “left” to say this, the “left” will do that.
And we all stand together against the one doing the unacceptable as we have done here.
You are right Bush did not get into fights to protect himself - probably because he felt the position of President was not to be involved in petty bickering but involved in honoring the office and doing the work of President.
His staff, his party members and us - should have done that part of the battle for him. After all - he was busy with two wars trying to protect our families.
But, we did not. Instead we joined the left in destroying the man - so he stood alone.
I was on the phone with a Hilton VP late last week and told him it would be an excellent marketing move to publicly pull ads from letterman. You endear yourself to those who were offended and they’re the ones planning family trips right now. And those who blew it off or weren’t offended, aren’t paying attention to it anymore. It’s a win all around.
Wonder if I planted an idea...
You are right. In reality - they do not care one whit what we think about anything they do. They have an agenda as we see is being put into place right now.
But, the fact that we demand respect - especially for our women and children - is a gentlemanly thing that only we still have. The left is gone.
But, I agree - I want to see utter outrage over the antics and the agenda of the left. But - petty, trashy tit for tat wastes our time, makes us no better than the crudeness we speak up against and keeps us busy while they push through an agenda to take away America’s freedom.
We have more important battles - saving this country. And I am more interested in revolution talk - not cheap insults spiraling down to the gutter.
Fight fire with the real battle - not getting sidetracked by sideline diversionary tactics.
Good grief man - they are destroying America, freedom and we sit and talk about how ugly dave’s wife is?
Give me a break - we need fighters going after what they are doing as well as demanding respect for our side.
We hit them where it hurt. It has been on the news for 3 days - great! It has cost a sponsor or two - great! It has diminished Dave because the whole country realizes what a trash mouth he is - great!
And, we banded together to help Sarah fight this battle - absolutely wonderful! Wish we had done the same for Bush.
Dear Mars Snack Foods.... as your caustic, in your face, response has insulted me, you have lost a customer. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hurt your revenues...
