Time for a live thread to keep track of all the news in Iran- it's getting tough to keep up!

A few more tweets:
oxfordgirlMousavi to rally “The vote of the people is more important than Mousavi or any other person,” #iranelection #iranelections #moussavi
IranRiggedElectMousavi gave a speech to people on the street, asking for re-election.Khatami gave a seprate speech with the same request.
oxfordgirlFrance 24 confirms Mousavi been seen at protest. I stand corrected #IranElection #IranElection
persiankiwimy ladyingreen reports sighting of mousavi. will update asap. javeed bad mellat Iran. #Iranelection
I think the MSM wants to supress, or at least downplay, the information because they are reminded of the recent tea party protests, of the ones scheduled in the future and the fact that millions of Americans are unemployed with grim employment job prospects and who have nothing to lose by protesting. They do not want to stir the unhappy masses.
Until the www erupted in twitter information the msm didn’t want to report much information, but with the volume of data on the net, they must report out of reluctance so as to merely attempt to appear unbiased. Tweets forced the MSM hand. Interesting times we live in!
> It is not the number of votes that counts, it is who is doing the counting that counts!Josef Stalin
Unless the people rise up.
I tell you, I haven’t felt this sort of amazing hope since the Berlin Wall fell. God bless and help the people of Iran during this pivotal time!

I think you’re on to something! I was thinking something similar late last night.

Indeed. This technology has truly shown us that the truth is like kryptonite to despots and their complicit toadies in the media. When people, real people, can be the fourth estate, well, that is truly an exciting time to be alive.

Hemmer said the real test will be who can outlast the other.
Will the protesters outlast the police?
Hemmer says a lot of times in these cases the police will get tired of beating on their own people.
Mousavi would be far worse. He will follow the same nuclear policies and terror sponsorship that Ahmanutjob has been following but he'll do it smiling and the west will let down it's guard. Obama will think he's made a new disciple and Israel will be even more isolated than they are today.
There hasn’t been anything like this in Iran in decades- and now the world has seen it.
Oh geeeesh- Bob Beckel on FOX now reminding us how terrific it is that Lebanon voted pro West- and the credit goes to...The One.
The questions they’re answering is WTH hasn’t Obama said ANYTHING about this?

I didn’t see this one on the Twitter list. It’s a very active one:

also these Tweets w/i 15 miles of Tehran.
Understood.
What I’m thinking is that the world has now seen that the people of Iran clearly want “more” freedom than they now have. Mousavi regrettably is the symbol of that freedom.
Thanks :)
It seems obvious to me that Hussein wants “The Moderate” to win, so that it will look like his overtures to the “moderates” in the Middle East is bearing more fruit.
Therefore, it wouldn’t surprise me if we had covert operatives there, helping to stir up the protests, in hopes of dislodging I’manutjob & mullah rule.
Actually there was, in 1997, when the "reformer" Khatami won the election. And what changed? Nothing!

This will change the face of the Islamic Republic forever, said one well-connected Iranian, who like most of those interviewed declined to be named in the current tense climate. Ahmadinejad will claim an absolute mandate, meaning he has no need to compromise.

The elite Revolutionary Guards and a good part of the intelligence services feel very much threatened by the reformist movement, said a political analyst who asked not to be identified for fear of retribution. They feel that the reformists will open up to the West and be lenient on the nuclear issue, he said. It is a confrontation of two ways of thinking, the revolutionary and the internationalist. It is a question of power.
