What’s the difference between an American voter and an Iranian one?

The Iranian voter recognizes a rigged election.

Our news media has been to fixated with Letterman...ABC news has nothing and the rest can’t push Obuma off the front page long enough to report.

Iran's Militant Clerics Society has called for the vote to be annulled and a new election held.

And Little Hitler will have them beheaded first.

and the difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi is?

According to Amb John Bolton - not much.

“the extremist builds nuclear weapons and announces his intentions to destroy Israel... while the moderate builds nuclear weapons and is smart enough to keep his mouth shut about his intentions to destroy Israel.”

OMG!
I’ll bet that those results would have been similar here if all of the fraudulent ACORN votes were tossed out last November.

A source from the Ministry of Interior said that the real results were 42 million votes for Mousavi, and only 5.6 million for Ahmadinejad.

No wonder the people there are going ballistic.

If true, it suggests that the “powers that be” may have decided that it is necessary to forego amateur election-rigging and re-do the process in a more “professional” manner. I don’t expect that a “new” election will be anything more than a sprucing up of pre-ordained political decisions in a manner more attractive to the public.

Ummm..., I would rather have “Ima-nut-job” in office, instead of the other so-called moderate guy.

I like Ahmadinejad embarrassing the Europeans with his threats to annihilate the nation of Israel and wipe out the Jews with another Holocaust. It’s so much better to have that kind of a contrast for those nut-jobs in Europe, instead of a weasel-weenie type that many are saying that they would prefer to “Ima-nut-job”... LOL...

I heard the Iranian equivalent of ACORN is throwing Iranian protesters in jail by the hundreds, while that moron in the White House says he considers such behavior a “robust debate”

The Real Results?

This is hearsay - but under conditions of a police state coup, we are best advised to glean what information we can, hold it provisionally, and test it as time passes. Here's what Kos Diarist Electronic Maji is hearing from Iranian journalist friends under lockdown:

Unofficial news - reports leaked results from Interior Ministry:

Eligible voters: 49,322,412
Votes cast: 42,026,078
Spoilt votes: 38,716
Mir Hossein Mousavi: 19,075,623
Mehdi Karoubi: 13,387,104
Mahmoud Ahmadi-nejad (incumbent): 5,698,417
Mohsen Rezaei (conservative candidate): 3,754,218

If this is true, it would explain the comically lop-sided total in reverse - a lovely gesture from the regime taken direct from Machiavelli - and the panicked reaction by the regime.
