Less than 24 hours after WND reported a proposal from U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, to audit the Federal Reserve was approaching majority support in the U.S. House, he is confirming the plan has reached that "crucial benchmark."
"The tremendous grass-roots and bipartisan support in Congress for H.R. 1207 is an indicator of how mainstream America is fed up with Fed secrecy," Paul said shortly after U.S. Rep Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, became the 218th cosponsor, giving the plan, technically, majority support in the 435-member House.
"I look forward to this issue receiving greater public exposure," Paul said.
A spokeswoman in Paul's office said by the end of the business day in Washington, D.C., the plan had attracted 221 cosponsors. She said hearings on the transparency of the Federal Reserve are expected over the next month as part of the Financial Services Committee's series of hearings on regulatory reform.

The revolution has begun.
I see the keyword sabateurs have been here. Some people never grow up.
Hey, Drago, this is a bipartisan resolution, comprende? If you had all the Republicans and only Republicans as co-sponsors, the bill would never reach the floor of the House.
You worry about Kucinich too much. Surely there are at least a few of your favorite Republicans on the co-sponsors list.
Or are those Congressmen no longer your favorites by virtue of agreeing to co-sponsor Rep. Paul's resolution?
Hey 217 people got on board before Dennis. Some of them are great conservatives, some are mushy moderates, and some are left wing wackos.
Plus 60 Senators.... 60 for a filibuster, 67 for a veto over ride.
There may still be hope to save our nation.
I am proud to see a man who gave me hope years ago to finally be recognized as a true American, and the true conservative he is, as he fights the good fight to save our nation from the socialists.
Dr. Paul stood alone for so many years in Congress with zero support. Yet he held his ground without flinching inspite of the painful darts thrown his way. Most men would have given up long before. Newt did. But not Doctor No. Nothing they could do to him could deter him from his mission to convince Congress to respect and honor our Constitution.
This is just the first step toward restoration of our Constitutional Republic. Many more must be taken.
Way to go Doctor No!
