I would say lifestyle, (eating habits, exercise etc.) have more to do with the bad health of some our citizens rather than the health care system itself- Obama clearly ignores the fact that we have the best system in the world. But Obama uses this slight of hand to make people think his plan will lead to healthier people, totally ignoring lifestyles and habits.
"I know there are millions of Americans that are happy with their health care coverage... they're content, they like their plan, they value their relationship with their doctor."
"And no matter how we reform health care, I intend to keep this promise: if you like your doctor, you'll be able to keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan." "So don't let people scare you."
This is a sly way of hiding the fact that the government can take over the health care system, ration services, and still leave you with the same plan you had before- as well as- the same doctor. In the end, you'll have everything you had before... except for the ability to get the care you need in a timely fashion to save your life.
In fact, they don't even need to go in, just cruise the parking lot and count Canadian plates.
'Nuff said.
Oh sure....just as Bambi said he has no interest in the Federal Govt. owning GM. What dribble comes forth from the fork-tongued ONE is highly suspect.
Why does anybody believe anything Obama says about anything? Do you think Obama actually knows anything? Or tells the truth?
HealthCare is definitely WAYYYY above BOZer0’s pay grade.
They know this stampede to socialism will lose impetus soon.
That’s why they are so intent on ramming thru govt health and Cap N Tax asap.
Or visit a “free” clinic in any depressed urban area. Socialist health care = communist-style wards where the very sick go to die. The only people receiving reasonable health care in a socialist system are the ones able to afford private (often illegally so, think Hillary) doctors.
Socialist health care has nothing to do with maintaining good health. It’s all about another level of control, namely the ultimate control of deciding who lives and dies. It tends to be a hard leftist’s wet dream in terms of realizing an underhanded way to slowly “purge” the system of medical undesirables. It does eugenicists like Ted Turner proud.
How many cigarettes did Mr. Health smoke before giving this speech?

Tell my wife the cancer survivor who has lived healthy her entire life, that her genetic illness was caused by “bad habits” and that she is not “healthier” (alive!) because of the present system.
She says constantly the leftists plan to kill her next time and very sadly I know she is right.
Obama is an evil filthy liar who cares nothing about other people’s lives.
For those folks who think they have ‘good’ insurance are living with false sense of security. Most plans have lifetime caps. I have ‘good’ insurance right now too BUT I’m healthy, & have a job. Tomorrow I could get sick, not be able to work & lose my ‘good’ insurance. Our gov’t subsidizes 60% of all health care dollars spent now, including employer-based benefits. Americans pay $3 per person & not everybody covered— French citizens (France is rated #1 health care system in world) pay $2 per person and EVERYBODY covered! Other developed countries have varying models of universal health care; none allow for-profit, investor-owned sector at the core of basic health care. Today in US, 31 cents on every dollar goes to admin, CEO pay & advertising, instead of toward actual health care for its citizens. Removing the middle-men out of the equation would more than pay for ALL Americans to be covered covered! Check out PBS Frontline documentary: “Sick Around the World”; explains alot.
Single-payer, HR 676, is the only way to regain doctor-patient autonomy, control costs & provide access to all!! And for those who don’t realize it, US has a true socialism health care model, VA system. Medicare, well that’s UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE model. The employee-employer based model is similar to France & Germany EXCEPT for-profits not at core. The then there’s the third world country model... everybody else who can’t afford coverage, and the underinsuraned who land in bankruptcy from high medical costs and low-caps, and those who ration their own care (and die) due to high deductibles of the ‘affordable plan’.
Isn't this what Her Heinous said about Hillarycare, too? I'm glad to see Betsy McCaughey is coming out strong against That One's health care reform the way she came out against Hillarycare. She was powerful the last time; here's hoping she'll be able to do the same good job this time.
