WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration says executive compensation must be better managed to prevent the sort of risk-taking that jeopardizes the economy.

Gene Sperling, who advises Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, said Thursday the administration does not want to impose caps on executive pay. But he also laid out for the House Financial Services Committee a list of guidelines calling on publicly-held companies to link compensation to long-term performance, not short-term gains.

The Fuhrer has spoken.

The Furher has spoken and now it's time for the private sector and ALL Americans to speak. This is no longer even Socialism. This is straight up Communism and we need to send a message LOUD AND CLEAR that this dictator running OUR country is NOT GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. Off to Washington we MUST GO en masse.

You know, I’ve had conversations with friends who have said things like, “Obama isn’t really evil, he’s just inexperienced and as long as he has people around him that know what to do, America will be just fine.”

I used to agree with that, but after these first few months (does it seem like a lifetime to anyone else too?!) since HolyO took office, and almost on a daily basis we are seeing the tearing down of the Constitution and all that America stands for—I’m firmly putting the tin foil hat on and believe that this person in the White House is truly out to do as much damage as possible as he can before America wakes up to stop him—IF America wakes up!!

WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE?? Owing your employer money for working *for* them?!?!?! >:-( I can see that day coming soon at this pace!

He tried to do so with the National Recovery Administration(The NRA).

But the SCOTUS found it unconstitutional.

Made FDR so mad he tried to pack the court in 1937.

I’m sick and tired of seeing CEO’s kill a company and walk away with $200 milion dollar golden parachute while the stockholders get screwed.

Don’t get me wrong...I don’t care what a ceo get’s paid. The company can pay them $10 billion per year I do not care...as long as they back it up with performance.

The current system is based upon ceo board cronyism and little stockholders like me have no say in the matter. Yeah you’ll say I can sell my stock....or don’t buy the stock..but get real, that is not the answer.

Be prepared to be called an envious class warfare monger. ;) I agree 100% with you and believe that much of this scrutiny was brought on by executives. If they would have policed themselves their would not be the outrage that exists today. I don't care if a CEO makes a trillion dollars a year as long as it is based on corporate performance. That said, I don't want the government dictating how much me or anyone else should make. It's a slippery slope and executives greased the skids...

I called Feinstein’s office yesterday to comment; got one of her moronic staffers with his arrogant surly attitude. LOL

Actually, I was shocked to get a live person. Last time I called to comment, the minute I said anything they threw the call into an automated comment line. They don’t intend to listen to the American people; their arrogance knows no bounds. We are, after all, the peons and they’re the Kings and Queens of power.

This is not only going to affect executives. It’s already affecting everyone. The latest fad is to take a pay cut, shut up and be happy you have a job.

Especially when we hear the Left saying that a salary of $60,000 is “excessive” and that professional jobs need to be brought in line with the pay grade of public skool teachers.

So you’re NOT sick of a congress that walks with $160 K a year, not counting their cars, planes, security details, free meals etc no matter HOW MANY TIMES they screw up?

Cut me a break. You sign a contract, you honor the contract. Limiting pay isn’t the answer, writing better contracts is too.

Welcome to FR. In the English language, we do not pluralize with apostrophes except in the case of of indicating ownership by multiple people with a common last name ending in ‘s’, and then it’s placed after the last ‘s’.

And for the record, I haven’t made anywhere near $60k at a job in the better part of a decade. And I still had to take a pay cut.

Da, Comrades—no more `tipping’! Bribing waiters to perform their service owed to society is a barbarous capitalist custom! Of course, restaurant service will really suck for the proletarian class ... but the proles are not people!
And fellow workers, remember to use lots of exclamation marks!
