TV host David Letterman has been criticised for making "sexually perverted" comments and "rape jokes" about Sarah Palin's teenage daughter.
The former vice presidential candidate hit back after he called her "slutty" and appeared to suggest her 14-year-old child slept with a baseball star.
Letterman, the host of The Late Show on CBS, told his audience Mrs Palin looked like a "slutty flight attendant" on a trip to New York.
The Alaskan governor was there for a baseball game and to be honoured by a special needs group, accompanied by Willow, 14.

I actually used to be a pretty big Letterman fan, but he’s lost it. An old man making jokes about teenage girls is just beyond creepy. He’s forgotten his audience trying to impress his buddy Keith Olberwoman.

Now Mr. Palin? I could see Mr. Palin wanting to have "a word" with Letterman, but I don't think Letterman has the nads for that.
Waaaaaay back in the 80s, I was a big fan of Late Night with David Letterman. When he was on NBC. I think I’ve watched the CBS show maybe twice or three times ever. I think he became a bitter loser when Jay Leno got the Carson gig. And then when Jay continually beat him in the ratings. Plus, sophomoric humor from a 40something year old is one thing. From a 60somthing, I guess it does get a little old. Anyway, the days of Larry Bud Melman are long gone.

I am writing to express my extreme disgust at David Letterman's comment about Sarah Palin's 14-yr old daughter, Willow Palin, being knocked-up (raped) by the baseball player Alex Rodriguez occurring during the 7th inning of the game. In addition, I am highly offended by his comment about Gov. Sarah Palin having a 'slutty' look.
These comments goes far, far beyond the pale of comedy. I insist and demand that you fire David Letterman immediately, issue an profound apology on behalf of CBS, and never ever again allow jerks like this on your network.
Any apology by Letterman is not acceptable. The firing of this jerk will be the only acceptable and decent response by your network.
I await to see and hear your needed response.
Remember how funny Chris Elliot was? The mistake with Dave was changing his show. They gussied it all up, tried to make a big deal out of it, which totally blew the whole concept. Part of what made it so fun was that it was simple, low budget, and silly. The show itself was a joke, and that was part of the appeal. He started taking himself seriously. That was the downfall.

Well if Alex Rodriguez got the little girl pregnant during the baseball game as the joke went, how exactly would that have occurred? Since she's only 14, she can't legally consent to sex with an adult man under any circumstances. Were the joke to be true, Mr. Rodriguez would be facing felony child rape charges in New York. Also, even if the little girl were above the age of consent there is nothing whatsoever to suggest that she would consent to having sex with Mr. Rodriguez during the ballgame.
Even if the girl in the joke were an adult, the suggestion that she would willingly have sex with some celebrity baseball player at the game is a very slanderous and rude comment. I am sure that most of the guys in attendance at the ballgame would consider such a joke about their wife or girlfriend to be "fighting words". Such a joke about their teenage daughter would probably start a fight instantly.
sex with anyone underaged is prima facie statutory rape. it doesn’t need to be explicitly stated, as that is the very definition.
