Savage: Vote Palin and get 4 more years of Obama
Heard on Savage Nation 06-09-09 | self

Posted on 06/10/2009 9:35:03 AM PDT by BornToBeAmerican

I listen to Doc Savage every now and again and agree with him most of the time.

BUT not this time. Last night he was on a rant over Sarah Palin and her possibly becoming the next US President.

He made it very clear of his disgust for her and said if Sarah got in, it would be for moree years of Obama.

How SO?????

Is not Alaska the only State in the Union that gives money back to its constituents. Has a much better Tax code and is doing everything to promote Alaska for the betterment of itself and the rest of the nation (read Gas pipeline for the lower 48) and more Drilling

This does not sound like Obama and any democrat that I know.

I am not sure what the Doc is on, but IMO he is way off base on this.

As far as I know the election is a ways away. It may well be that in 3.5 years we could run Micky Mouse and beat Obama. Or it may well be that the system has been so corrupted that we could run George Washington against him and lose. I’m not placing any bets yet.

I stopped listening to Savage a long time ago. He is the left’s caricature of what conservatives are.

Exactly. He's served Hillary that way for decades (which is also why he's against Palin now).

There is a local conservative radio host on WHO Radio in Des Moines who can't stand Palin either. I think his biggest problem with her is that he thinks she is bringing out her daughter as a role model having an out-of-wedlock baby.

I agree.

I like Palin but she will be labeled George Bush in a dress.

We have to get serious, unite and push the strongest conservative candidate in hopes of taking our country back. Otherwise (if it’s not to late) all will be lost.

Savage is far too fond of his own voice, which leads him to logorrhea, bombast, exaggeration, gratuitous insult, and outright falsehood.

However, I cannot think of a basic policy point where I disagree with his position - I just can’t stand more than a few moments of his hyperbolic bloviation.

If my memory serves, he’s a Romney supporter.

Bingo! We have a winner... You can track back all anti Palin comments from the right to two sources.
Romney supports and Huckabee supporters.
Both of whom have egos that will never let them sit out 2012, insuring that the ONE will win a second term.

Savage has ripped Sarah from word one. Michael likes to boast that he is independent. I like some of his stories and his nutritional information... apolital pundit he is not

No he was not. Called her white Alaskan trash. Said she was the worst pick in the world. Guess you don’t pay much attention when the yelling starts

I don’t ever try to speak for others I knew about Palin way before McStupid picked her. I am a bit of a political junkie though so maybe I don’t count

Savage is pretty good most of the time and then undermines himself and his listeners with his petty jealousies.

Savage, while right on many issues, is mentally ill.

What her daughter models is that one does not have to have a baby smashed and killed inside the womb just because a mistake was made and life will become more complicated and confined with the actual birth.

Besides, in a BRAVE and very COURAGEOUS way her daughter has been speaking out against teenage pregnancy in schools all over the country.

I am afraid I agree. She stumbles badly speaking off-the-cuff. A very sweet, likeable person, but not a serious national candidate. She didn’t have the sense to stay out of the shark pool with Couric and Gibson, although to a great extent this was sabotage by McCain’s people, it demonstrates a serious lack of judgement and experience. By all means, Palin should run 3rd party, the GOP elites hate her and they will sabotage her, and in this way she may very well be of service destroying the biggest impediment to conservatism, which is the GOP.

Savage was not specific, you had to read between the lines a bit. He did not express disgust. She simply isn’t serious. She sounds a bit like an aunt who’s had a bit too much to drink and starts spouting off on politics.

No I was not a Romney supporter.

Everyone makes mistakes and as a mother who's own daughter had a child (whom I love dearly) out of wed lock would be the last person in the world to vilify Palin.

I supported Huckabee who was demonized for his son while Palin gets a pass.

Obama is a smooth talker while Palin stumbles over her words. She is not forceful enough and it's going to take a lot of experience and strength to dig us out of this mess.

Even with his past personal mistakes I'm leading towards Newt. Since I am laying it all out there, I would like to see a Newt/Huckabee or Newt/Palin ticket. Which over time may change as the list of candidates are known.
