Drake, former SBC officer, says he's praying for Obama to die (Southern Baptist Conference)

NEW YORK (ABP) -- A former Southern Baptist Convention officer who on June 2 called the death of abortion provider George Tiller an answer to prayer said later in the day he is also praying "imprecatory prayer" against President Obama.

Wiley Drake, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church in Buena Park, Calif., and former running mate of American Independent Party presidential candidate Alan Keyes, said June 2 on Fox News Radio he didn't understand why people were upset with his comments quoted by Associated Baptist Press from a webcast of his daily radio talk show.

"Imprecatory prayer is agreeing with God, and if people don't like that, they need to talk to God," Drake told syndicated talk-show host Alan Colmes. "God said it, I didn't. I was just agreeing with God."

Asked if there are others for whom Drake is praying "imprecatory prayer," Drake hesitated before answering that there are several. "The usurper that is in the White House is one, B. Hussein Obama," he said.

Later in the interview, Colmes returned to Drake's answer to make sure he heard him right.

"Are you praying for his death?" Colmes asked.

"Yes," Drake replied.

"So you're praying for the death of the president of the United States?"

"Yes."

"If he does not turn to God and does not turn his life around, I am asking God to enforce imprecatory prayers that are throughout the Scripture that would cause him death, that's correct."

Drake said he didn't pray for Tiller to be murdered -- only that God would take his life by some method -- but that he "absolutely" believed that God wanted the doctor dead.

"I believe the whole Bible, Alan," he explained. "I don't just preach part of it. I don't just preach the soft, fuzzy, warm stuff where we're supposed to be nice to everybody. I preach the whole Bible."

Part of the Bible, Drake claimed, is imprecatory prayer -- words of judgment in the Psalms prayed back to God -- a practice he said the church has lost.

"This whole concept that we're always to pray little, nice, soft, fluffy, prayers -- that we're not to pray imprecatory prayer -- has been something that just, in all honesty, that Southern Baptists have lost, and we need to regain imprecatory prayer," Drake said. "It is in the Bible, and we are proud to say as Southern Baptists that we believe the Book. You've got to believe the whole Book, brother, or you don't believe any of it."

Asked if he claimed to know God's will, Drake replied: "In some cases I do. Not in all cases. I know this, that if I do die right now, I'll go to heaven when I die because I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That's why I'll go to heaven and not to hell. And the reason George Tiller went to hell when he died was not because he killed babies, as terrible as that was. If he went to hell, and I think he did -- that's God's judgment and not mine -- but if he did go to hell it's because he did not accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior."

Drake said he did not believe Tiller's accused killer is a pro-life Christian.

"I'm of the opinion -- and now everybody's going to say 'There goes Wiley down the conspiracy-theory road,' I'm of the opinion that somebody in the Obama camp had this guy killed."

"Who benefits the most from this man killing a doctor?" Drake asked. "We certainly don't. Pro-life people certainly don't. It hurts us. It damages us, but Obama will indeed advance it. This will be one of those crises to take advantage of, and he's already done that."

Drake said he had no evidence and admitted his opinion for now is "pure speculation."

It sounds like a good prayer to me. I agree with it. Of course, I gave the “proviso” that I would add before asking God to do that, and remove Obama from living on this earth.

But, it’s a *perfectly fine prayer* — and one that all Christians should pray for (again, with the proviso of salvation, which should be for all, to be able to choose for themselves, and is always God’s first choice in the matter, that any person do choose Jesus as the Messiah of Israel for their own personal salvation — outside that — God can “take ‘em outta here!”).

Agree, this is rabid stuff. Besides, if I were to offer any prayers in the matter, I would be much more inclined to pray for the health and long life of our current president, taking into account the persons who are next in line for the presidency.

I think this is quite problematic on a number of levels.

I think The Rabbi’s prayer regarding the Czar in answer to Tevya’s question about whether there was a bless the Czar . . .

Said

“May The Lord bless and keep the Czar far away from us.”

is a good one.

And, I pray that The Lord remove OThuga from public office as soon as His priorities allow.

I figure The Lord knows how best to do whatever He wants in such matters.

I realize that prayers SOMETIMES seem to give The Lord more options.

So, praying YOUR WILL, LORD,

is a great one.

I also suspect that the oligarchy pulling his puppet strings are setting him up to be a fall guy . . .

We shall see.

Yeah, it’s basically problematic because people get queasy about God “taking people out”.... :-)

But, God does that sort of thing, and if someone is so evil and despicable and works against God’s plans (like, for instance, against Israel and their security and continued existence) then I would have no doubt that God will take him out.

However, I suspect that there is another component to God allowing Obama to be in there, in the office of President of the United States right now — and that has to do with the judgment of God upon this nation for its multitude of sins — and God has given the nation “what it deserves” — and the nation deserves Obama...

So, in that sense, if Obama is the judgment of God upon this nation, then I don’t hold out hope that God will remove him from this earth. And I do see that this is what Obama is.

When the nation repents..., then Obama may be “taken out” by God. But, since I don’t see it “in the works” that the nation is going to repent, I don’t expect God to relent on His judgment of the United States, compliments of Obama...

BUT, in regards to the Lord’s will, it’s going to be as He has determined. It’s legitimate for people to pray for Obama’s removal from this earth at the hand of God, as that’s exactly what God does in many instances already, and He is righteous and no one can call God “to account” for such things. If He does so, there’s nothing we can say about it.

And, as I said before, about that proviso..., I think that would also be what God has in mind for all of us, in that He grants His grace (i.e., common grace) to all of us, in order to bring us to the salvation that is in Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. If one doesn’t repent and turn to Jesus, the Messiah of Israel for their own personal salvation, the time for life on this planet can be shortened at any time, at the hand of God...

Mine is really simple... God gives Obama the opportunity to accept the Messiah of Israel as his personal savior, according to the Scriptures of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

And if he refuses and hardens his heart against God and His Messiah, then my prayer is to “take out Obama” by the direct hand of God, in living in this world.

It’s just that simple... (and you don’t have to add any other ingredients to the mix...)....

Well, “disgust away” because it’s not going to change the views of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and taking out anyone whom He wants *gone* from this world of the living. And it’s not going to change my views either, of what God can and will do.

All are deserving of death — by God’s decree and by His hand — short of the life-giving salvation of Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, according to the Scriptures of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

That would include Obama too.

Order of death penalties...

1. Death penalty for any parent who aborts their own child.
2. Death penalty for any person who decides to shoot an abortionist and/or staff
3. Death penalty for any abortionist.
4. Death penalty for any supporting staff in an abortion facility.

I would imagine that after #1 and #2 is completed, you won’t find anyone left who is doing anything in the #3 or #4 positions...

The one goes with the other, because it’s up to Obama (or anyone else, personally) to decide for themselves, whether they will accept God’s grace and salvation, through Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, according to the Scriptures from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

And if they don’t (and *especially* with someone in Obama’s position, who affects an entire nation and millions of people and even the nation of Israel, itself) — then it should be a prayer for God to *take them out of this world* to keep their evil from continually being perpetrated among millions in this world.
