The Philadelphia Womens Center gave away free abortions today in honor of Dr. George Tiller, the abortionist who was murdered last week by an anti-abortion extremist.
A worker at the clinic said that an unspecified number of abortions had been performed during the day, but that they had stopped giving them away by late afternoon.
She also said that there had not been free abortion giveaways in the past, and that there were no plans to give any away in the future. Under normal circumstances, abortions would not be au gratis at the clinic.
But they were today, in honor of Dr. Tillers memory and legacy.
Its really sad that they would give away for free without recognizing that an in emotional sense the abortion is very costly, said Dr. Charmaine Yoest, President and CEO of Americans United for Life.
The giveaway happened on the same day the family of Dr. Tiller announced the closing of his clinic in Wichita, Kansas. The closing means that only two clinics that perform late-term abortions will remain open in the United States.
"We are proud of the service and courage shown by our husband and father and know that women's healthcare needs have been met because of his dedication and service," the family said in the statement. "That is a legacy that will never die. The family will honor Dr. Tiller's memory through private charitable activities."
The family has ensured the privacy of the clinics patient records and information.
Katherine Spillar, executive vice president of the group Feminist Majority, told the Los Angeles Times that the clinics closing did not represent a setback for the pro-life movement.
"This is not a victory for them, she said.
What the hell is wrong with us.
Let’s see. A murderer is murdered so they celebrate by murdering. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...........................
FREE murder, what a deal! Should sell like hotcakes...
God will make us all pay for this.
Maybe next weeks special will be 2 for the price of 1 at the abortion clinics.
Nothing like that ol’ abortion lottery.
Wonder what these characters would give out to the 9/11 guys.
A dozen free skyscrapers to hit?
Remember during/after Katrina Tiller and some Planned Parenthood Clinics were giving the victims free abortions?
Just what a person who may have lost their spouse or child needed, an abortion on top of it.
Just as wonderful as their Mother's Day and Choice on Earth Christmas cards. Gird your loins... literally.
Same beast, different name.
So much for the “city of brotherly love”...
For added visibility they’ll be advertising for twins to abort, “Two for the price of none!”
Bunch of murderers.

No. God made Jesus pay for all this. Those who do not accept Him get to pay their own tab, but mine has been picked up. However, our nation and society are facing harsh judgement and I expect it will fall very soon
Actually, I think it is quite fitting in the alternate universe in which the pro-abortion crowd lives. Honoring a mass murderer by killing even more innocent babies for free is consistent with their twisted sense of morality where killing babies is a good thing. Plus, there is a great bonus for this abortion mill. By offering free abortions for a day they will benefit from the PR. The next time women in the area who are abortion minded “need” an abortion, which abortion mill will they think of first?
Maybe the clinic could expand its services and kill off all the old and disabled people who are such a burden on society as well. They could rename the clinic Bookends.
So there’s your legacy, Doc. Dead babies while you lived, and more dead babies to honor your passing. A tombstone of sundered flesh and lives never lived. And a choir of silent voices to sing you to your rest.
My current wonder is
how will those who claim Jesus’ sacrifice as covering their sin
yet deny all he taught about the exclusivity of that sacrifice, deny “sin” itself,
and support abominations to His Commands
fair when they stand before His judgement seat.
I believe Scott Peterson offered free abortions too.
