High court won't block Chrysler sale
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court has cleared the way for Chrysler's sale to Fiat, turning down a last-ditch bid by opponents of the deal.
The court said late Tuesday it had rejected a plea to block the sale of most of Chrysler's assets to the Italian automaker. Chrysler, Fiat and the Obama administration had warned that the high court's intervention could have scuttled the sale.
A federal appeals court in New York had earlier approved the sale, but gave opponents until Monday afternoon to try to get the Supreme Court to intervene.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ordered a temporary delay just before a 4 p.m. deadline on Monday.

That’s what I mean. If we have no law. Or, no consistent law, everyone makes decisions that protect their assets and wealth and that protection becomes more expensive.

I had hopes that they would finally do something that protected the constitution .. I guess not.
It will take close to 50 years or more to get a real set of judges that will protect our country and constitution if we act now.
We need REAL conservatives in both houses and then throw that idiot out of the White House.

If not, we can kiss this country good bye. Heck, I did that long ago. I'm just glad I don't have any children that will have to endure the complete unraveling.

No better way to measure that I can think of. When the populace stocks up on guns and ammo, the only conclusion is that they are getting ready to defend and protect.

Makes you wonder if the Supremes are under some kind of personal bodily threat. Ginsburg temporarily held this up so her fascist friends could give the Court a talkin' to.
I say this because this decision should have been so cut and dried and yet the standing issue follows the exact same pattern as the birth certificate lawsuits.
I think we are screwed beyond a shadow of a doubt.

If they WERE under bodily threat there would be something they could do. Publicly declare what the threat was, who made it, and appeal to the troops to set right what you are about to get killed/harmed for.

I want you two to think of one sorta bright spot in all this crappola. City and County governments have been getting huge sales tax revenues offa auto malls and car dealers in general, to say nothing of gasoline taxes and sales taxes on those gasoline taxes in CA.
All the commie-libs in local government should be in a screaming out-rage at 0b0z0's flatulent folly about now!!!
Well, don'tcha think??? They're probably bawling about all their "crying unmet needs" right about now...

I think the SC decided not to hear the case and simply let the appeal fall through, eg. sorry bond owners...your own your on.

Someone should call a Scalia expert because I think you just smacked it out of the ballpark.
Congrats.

mark this day as the end of our capitalism and end of our way of life by the current temporary occupant of the White House destroying our country and a congress and supreme court out to lunch when it occurred, and the beginning of czarist rule

—With the economy the worst it’s been since The Great Depression absolutely the only reason for the cost of oil to keep going up is how fast the dollar is getting weaker around the world.—
No, actually the reason the price of oil is going up again is because the SPECULATORS have returned to their “pump it up” routine once again. Eventually, the bubble will burst because there is no rational economic reason to support it, and the price of oil will plummet just like it did last winter.
