High court won't block Chrysler sale

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court has cleared the way for Chrysler's sale to Fiat, turning down a last-ditch bid by opponents of the deal.

The court said late Tuesday it had rejected a plea to block the sale of most of Chrysler's assets to the Italian automaker. Chrysler, Fiat and the Obama administration had warned that the high court's intervention could have scuttled the sale.

A federal appeals court in New York had earlier approved the sale, but gave opponents until Monday afternoon to try to get the Supreme Court to intervene.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ordered a temporary delay just before a 4 p.m. deadline on Monday.

>Unless the military steps in, which it won’t,

I think, sadly, you may be right... though I would LOVE for my fellow servicemen to put their feet down and say “NO! Not on my watch!”

The oath is not to a person, organization, or group of people; it is to the Constitution.

"“Heirloom” is the same as non-hybrid, I take it..."

Essentially that's correct. Heirloom specifically refers to older style or rare varieties not really seen in large scale commercial production. But NON-Hybrid is the key. What you want is something the will reliably reproduce. Hybrids don't.

If I may suggest the following book tells you how to harvest and store those seeds.

“Seed to Seed” by Suzanne Ashworth.

Also a correction. In the previous post “Frost Freeze”, should be Frost Free. You want to get a dedicated freezer that gets to at least 0 degrees F. This can extend the seeds by virility by years.

You said that the markets look six months ahead and I said that they cannot look more than 2 weeks ahead.

I've been wrong before and I was wrong here. This marks the end of free enterprise and capitalism in America.

I gotta go find out where my bonds are located and dump them like a hot potato. Secured corporate bonds are not worth the paper they are printed on. All bonds are officially "junk" bonds

The economy is now being run by Michael Milken.

Excellent. Thanks. I’m gathering all this info together. When the SHTF, we may well have to rely on a network of outposts where we can count on each other.

Markets do try to look ahead. I doubt that is news to you. I made no judgement regarding how well they do that or anyone else which is irrelevant to what I was responding to.

I was responding to the guy who thought that somehow markets were going to tank tommorrow because the Supremes did not act on a last minuet appeal. The markets factored in the sale long ago and were not counting on the Supremes to stop it. The markets didn’t even have to look ahead. Whatever action it took was performed when the sale was published in the news or even before.

Other points of the rule of law; You cannot get a learners permit to drive in Hawaii with the Short form Birth Certificate, but Congress feels that you can get a Presidency.

Laws are for the little people, that and taxes. If they take our guns, we might as well buy KY.

So the Supreme Court doesn't have the balls to uphold property rights.

As of today, it is official that SCOTUS is impotent in its duty to defend the Constitution and rule according to the law.

The bond holders had a rightful claim to Chrysler assets before the unions and the unsecured creditors.

SCOTUS just gave a big thumbs up to DOTUS (Destroyer of the US) for being an outright criminal. Excellent.
