High court won't block Chrysler sale
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court has cleared the way for Chrysler's sale to Fiat, turning down a last-ditch bid by opponents of the deal.
The court said late Tuesday it had rejected a plea to block the sale of most of Chrysler's assets to the Italian automaker. Chrysler, Fiat and the Obama administration had warned that the high court's intervention could have scuttled the sale.
A federal appeals court in New York had earlier approved the sale, but gave opponents until Monday afternoon to try to get the Supreme Court to intervene.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ordered a temporary delay just before a 4 p.m. deadline on Monday.

Sadly, you've hit the nail on the head.
We're losing our country at breakneck speed.
"Barry the great is going to show us what that means in spades!"
Benito and his gang will be partying hard tomorrow evening in the White House.
America, it’s been a great experience these past 233 years, but all good things must eventually come to an end. Rest in Peace...
Thank you. But I should have added,
In the process, the sheriff stole the money from the bank (TARP), and lent it to the maid so she could by the house for pennies on the dollar.
Nothing.
We’ve always had free choice.
This time, 52% chose very poorly.
TARP cash, I think (someone correct me if I’m wrong), provided debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing to Chrysler. That’s a loan - usually by a private entity, but here it was the government - provided in the context of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy to facilitate the reorganization plan. Except here, I think it’s more like a grant than a loan; there’s no expectation of payback.
To see if I’m right of wrong, find the TARP section of Indiana’s brief; I have not read it yet.

If there is only a law that forbids from voting those “working age” citizens who do not work and do not pay taxes then socialism and liberalism cannot win a thing in the government.
Crud, you are using 0bama’s words to make yourself feel better.
TARP funds are retricted to financial institutions.
Indiana corrected argued that Chrysler is not a bank (in the brief you linked).
T Soliciter General, in her response, said Chrysler is a bank if we say it is.
LOL ... why not.
You got that right, FRiend.
There should be a test...;o)
These are the seeds we bought. $149.00 plus shipping. Best peace of mind money we ever spent. Advertised on Beck amd coast to Coast.
Obama “lent” TARP money to New Chrysler to buy all of the assets of Old Chrysler - Only new chrysler is not a “financial institution”, as required by tarp.
In fact, a bill passed in the house to add automakers to TARP - it failed in the senate.
http://www.survivalseedbank.com/ sorry, forgot the link ;)
Is “heirloom seed” the name of the brand?
Don’t forget something to barter with (bottles of whiskey, junk silver, etc.)
The message is clear only an idiot would invest their money in any U.S. Company that at a moments notice could be consumed and sold off by our own government.
At one time I believed the Constitution protected people from the governments oppressive rule but not anymore. I guess we really are living in the end times.
Nothing.
Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
Ah, that makes sense. Thanks, Patton.
You are quite welcome - now go have a beer, and morn the passing of that great jem, the Republic that was. :(
