Tom Campbell formally announced his candidacy for governor of California tonight on KGO AM 810.
No chance.
I’ll have to check, but I thought I heard him on Hugh Hewitt’s show pimping the first TARP crap sandwich.
A RINO of the first order...
For every correct position - Tom can be relied upon to be on the wrong side of at least 5 issues.
ping
Campbell’s website:http://www.campbell.org/
Can you give some specifics? Tom was valedictorian of our class at St. Ignatius in Chi-town. But like so many of the Jesuit offspring, I believe he accepts abortion.
As far as I know, Campbell is with the Democrats on abortion and homosexuality issues. If anyone knows anything different, post and ping. Thx.
We’ve got a ballot line.
Boy I’m really tired of the knee jerk RINO label to Conservatives just because someone supports another candidate but this guy is very very liberal on social issues even if his solid on fiscal issues. Myself I reserve the RINO for the Spector and McLame types who can’t spend into a hole fast enough but Campbell is definitely every bit Schwartzenkennedy on abortion and gay marriage. He’s way left of Rudy there.
He’s a scumbag’s scumbag. He was always sticking it to our people back when we had power.
Campbell had an ACU Rating of 59% and supported taxpayer funded abortion. He is roughly halfway between Specter and McCain. If he was elected he would have a tighter control of the state party than Arnold.
If Tom Campbell is the best California Republicans can come up with, I’m glad I left the state...
Yep.
No chance, but he has my vote.
Ignore the previous comment, I had him mixed up with someone else: Campbell is definitely a RINO!
CA: “Been there, done that.” Would they want Jerry Brown to straighten out things? Somebody needs to figure out what happened to 2 million CA voters in the past ten years.
"I propose a 15% give-back of salary from all state employees, with furloughs to achieve the same savings if the state employee union representatives do not agree. That will add $2.7 billion dollars in savings, achieving the $15.4 billion needed to solve the budget deficit if the initiatives pass. If they do not pass, the state will need $5.8 billion more. I propose increasing the gasoline tax for one year by 32 cents. The result will be a balanced budget, at a level of state expenditure no higher than what we spent 10 years ago, adjusted for population and inflation."
Well - THANKFULLY the "initiatives" which Campbell counted on did NOT pass... NOW - how will he make up the $21 BILLION shortfall???? Raise Gas taxes an additional $1.50 per gallon?
PROBLEM?
1. Not one mention of FIRING all of the NEW State Employees put on the payroll during the Governator's administration. The UNIONS will certainly UNDERSTAND the rule THEY imposed -- Last in, First out.
2. Not one mention of cutting ALL aid to ILLEGAL ALIENS. 3. Not one mention of OUTSOURCING State prisoners to the lowest bidder for incarceration - rather than spending $35,000+/yr to keep them in Kalifornicate and provide full medical benefits.
4. Not one mention of eviscerating the State Pension portion covered by TAXPAYERS... Let the State Employees FUND THEIR OWN 85%+ RETIREMENTS, NOT the taxpayers.
5. Not one mention of dismantling and State Departments, Commissions, excessive "staff", perks for elected "officials", bilingual education, bilingual ballots, etc. etc... "Citizens" entitled to vote or receive a Taxpayer funded education are presumed to speak the language of their country.... If they can't or won't learn on their own as every prior immigrant did - then they should return to their country of origin....
DOA
Campbell seems a decent guy but he wants to increase taxes to support the teachers’ unions. Says we need to keep 20 students class size.
But who’s left (no pun)? Meg is a McLame wannabe and Poizner is your typical rich guy who bought himself a political office. Of the two, Poizner is best but that ain’t saying much. WASS.
