BREITBART: Know thy enemy: This is not your mother's Democratic Party
The Washington Times ^ | Monday, June 8, 2009 | Andrew Breitbartt

Posted on 06/08/2009 1:14:36 AM PDT by Cincinna

The Democratic Party's attitude to elections is admirable: Win. And recent history has shown it will do anything to do so.

When, if not now, will Republicans develop such a fighting spirit?

Democrats invest - with taxpayer money, mind you - in groups like ACORN that, among other sordid tactics, seek out Skid Row bodies and wheel them to polling places. All the Democratic National Committee needs are vans and smelling salts. Pop culture and the "education system" have done the rest, making "D" the default choice on Election Day.

Democrats brazenly take policy positions - think government services and even amnesty for illegal immigrants - not because they are the right thing to do, but because they are time-tested demographic bribes. Forget cigarettes and beer, Democrats would distribute needles, methadone, medical marijuana and biscotti in voter goodie bags if they could get away with it.

Democrats long ago jettisoned America's melting-pot ideal - E Pluribus Unum ("Out of Many, One") - because it imperils their campaign for permanent rule. Splitting the country into separate identity groups and playing them against each other works a lot better. And anyone who disagrees is a racist.

Win. Win. Win.

One of the first things President Obama attempted to do after taking office was to take control of the Census Bureau, an act that could redraw congressional districts and ensure Democratic majorities for years to come. The new president also etched out an enemies list, focusing on conservative talk-radio hosts, including Rush Limbaugh. He also appears to have singled out Fox News. Comedians and mainstream journalists who are usually contemptuous of government bullying and First Amendment threats also continue to do the president's bidding.

I don’t consider vote fraud “developing a fighting spirit”.

*** FRENCH POLITICS AND CULTURE PING LIST *** FREEPMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ***

I love Andrew Breitbart. He is one of the brightest conservatives on the scene today. If you can, catch him when he guests on Red Eye on Fox News Channel.

What Breitbart is saying was demonstrated in action yesterday in the European Elections in Europe, particularly in France.

GOP and all Conservatives should take note and study these elections closely.

France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy began a detailed, meticulously planned and executed, politics as blood sport campaign to demolish the leftist opposition, and did it.The PS (Socialist Party) was in total disarray after two years of Sarko, and in his strong campaign in the EU elections, the Socialist were literally wiped out. This giant tsunama reverberated in a wave of Rightist victories throughout Europe.

BREITBART SAYS:
“In the next election cycle, things need to be drastically different. Democracy is not Augusta National Golf Club. It’s a messy free-for-all, and in a two-party system, the GOP will not survive if it doesn’t accept the fact that the Democrats are its enemy and that it must begin to play for keeps. That means finding another Lee Atwater - only meaner - and not apologizing when we get him. “

No, but recognizing the other sides tactics and fighting them with the gloves off, is what it is all about.

Just four months into the Obama rule, if you don’t realize they must be stopped, using any and all electoral tactics. he will win again, and again, and again.

He isn’t advocating vote fraud as a tactic for the Republicans, just pointing out that the Dems engage in it regularly.

A coordinated Democratic campaign against mainstream middle-of-the-road Republicanism is here to stay. And our strategy, as best as I can decipher it, is to be more liked than the last go around.

We have a strategy?

Brietbart nailed this one square on the head. Now, if only the GOP will wake up from a decade-long “deep sleep” during which time they became “deaf, dumb, blind, stupid, decrepit, useless and pathetic.”

I knew and worked with Lee Atwater, he was a great guy, but nowhere near as mean as we are going to have to be.

Agree. We need a Lee Arwater for these times.

The leader and advisors will arrive when the time is right. We are not there yet, but it is getting close.

This nation cannot long survive half Red and half Blue.

The mainstream churches ARE NOT all conservative, and there is a "this is God's plan" attitude prevalent in others.

When the liberals first started to take over public education, and institute all their other programs, most religious "conservatives" did nothing effective. We should have met every liberal speech, every liberal deed, with defiance. Instead, we whimpered and whined!

Everyone was more afraid of damaging their career, or being called a radical, than they cared about the future for their kids and grandkids.

The decay of this nation could have been stopped 40 years ago, and stopped a lot easier than is possible now.

I am taking no pleasure in saying that some of us told you so.

You laughed at us, remember that?

I love what he says, but I think civil war is the only real solution...but then again the right is made up of good people who don’t have the stones to do what needs to be done.

And any leader that came along would be eliminated quickly.

Nope, the US of A is toast -— we needed a couple hundred breibarts a couple years ago. Now that O is in, its really too late.

It is never too late. The fight is just beginning.

Wow! Excellent piece!

A writer after my own heart.

I know he can’t publish it in today’s America, so I’ll say it for him:

These are rabid hard-leftists out to destroy what you all know as “USA”, remember that country?

These aren’t your father’s Democrats, these are as good as communists running the show. The effect will be identical no matter what you want to label them.

The last few paragraphs about Republican *ss-kissing were beautifully typed.

Bravo, Breitbart!

Nope, the US of A is toast ..." etc.

Ditto on your every word. I've been there, solidly since McCain won the nomination, ...And of that viewpoint going back to the era of the big spending Republican majority in Congress.

There is no bipartisanship that doesn't end in Republicans acquiescing in defeat of their core principles.

Well said.

To vote in America is a “right”, but it seems to me that it is a “right” with responsibilities. Not only do we need a voters card to prove the identity of the person voting, we need a test to prove that the individual understands what America stands for and what the “right to vote” means before getting the card. Age should NOT be the threshold to vote, proving that you understand the responsibility of voting should be the standard.
