The first reports came out that the two reporters figured they can sneak over the border for a better camera shot because they could not see any North Korean guards anywhere. Their camera man made it back to the Chinese side and is currently in San Francisco. He is told to keep his mouth shut and is kept away from the public. His employer did not want to jeopardize the women on trial if the camera man said something wrong like yea we snuck over to get a better camera shot. These two women reporters got to be dumb as crap to even pull a stunt like that. Maybe in the US one can trespass to get a story, but this is North Korea they are dealing with.
Will we be receiving glowing day by day updates from the camps on the glorious wonders of Juche in the People’s Democratic Republic?
I thought Lisa Ling her sister was there too and got away?
I saw Lisa on tv the other day LKL IIRC sharing the plight of her sister being held in NK.
Yup.
Seems to be this attitude amongst “journalists” that they are somehow immune to Kryptonite and can walk on water.
Most times, they are given a pretty wide berth, no matter how ill-advised.
But sometimes, reality bites. Hard.
Thank you spokesperson for Kim Jong Il justifying this. Why don’t you go over there since it’s so wonderful?
I have no sympathy for anybody who goes to these nutcase countries and somehting happens to them. None whatsoever.
No kidding. If they were caught on the North Korean side, I'm sure that their justice system considers it humane treatment that they weren't shot on site and lenient treatment to get off with just a 10 year sentence.
WTH were their liberal minds thinking ?
