Headline tells the story
We already know what goes on in those despot countries. we don’t need idiots sneaking into those countries just to take pictures.
I agree with you.
I am a Christian and pro-life. I don’t like values clarification being practiced by anyone—& basically some are by saying that since the reporters were likely liberal, their lives aren’t worth caring about. I am conservative, pro-life, and I care.
Wow, if one of my kids did something stupid like trespass (and we don’t know for sure that the reporters actually had crossed over the border or they were simply captured by some over-zealous guards), I would want all Americans to care. My kids are libertarian/conservataives & I would want this socialist administration to be working for their release—on many different fronts.
Frankly I think it is because we have a weak WH that this and the other saber rattling by NK has occured. If we do nothing we are reinforcing perception of weakness.
I don’t feel we as humans are allowed to establish the value of another human based on ideology.
I read that these two journalists were reporting on the sex-slave industry between China and North Korea. I commend them for that, and I don’t think that is a Liberal or Conservative issue. The sex slave industry is horrific, it is a criminal enterprize with the worst of motives being perpetrated on innocents & the reporters were exposing it. I don’t care who they work for, good for them!
I leave the value of life up to God and he did not discriminate on ideology. The death camps in North Korea are on a par with Nazi Germany—I have read reports on them. I don’t think anyone deserves to be there—esp. reporters who may have crossed the border doing a report on sex crimes.
No kidding. If they were caught on the North Korean side, I'm sure that their justice system considers it humane treatment that they weren't shot on site and lenient treatment to get off with just a 10 year sentence.
Ha, ha! Jokes on you - we have thousands more liberal journalists where those came from. :)
Working for Al Gore should get you at least 12 years.
On a more serious note, “Life is tough. It’s tougher when you’re stupid.” If they crossed the North Korean border, then they are paying the price for their stupidity.
My guess is they won’t be posting items about their stay in NK on their Facebook pages.
I was thinking maybe Keith Olbermann could go looking for them.
As a woman I do feel sorry for them. They will be treated like dirt, probably sexually assaulted, starved. Yes they were stupid to go over there, but they really have their own liberalism to blame for making such a dumb decision. I’ll bet Al Bore doesn’t go over there to try to get them released. I don’t even see anything about this on the main page of Huffpo. They are quiet about it because the ladies were libs investigating communists. But they sure have two reports going on Sarah Palin, including how she painted her toenails. Boy, that is really important news! Huffpo is a JOKE.
They were reporting on trafficking of women. That was a noble effort, albeit stupid to put themselves in a position where they could be apprehended by one of the most repressive regimes on the planet.
President Sarah Palin.
Her name looks so much better that way.
WTH were their liberal minds thinking ?
While hillary tries to convince other nations to recognize gays and parties at the State Dept. and invites Iranians to their embassies ......... priorities, priorities......
Where are all the people around the world who scream about GITMO?
You are correct. No Drama Obama couldn’t care less about these women. You can bet he’s hoping the press buries the story long enough to give NK enough goodies to let them out.
In any case, I expect NK to go public with these women’s pleas. It should be horrendous, and a reminder to the nation of what Carter-like accomodation can do to both countries sense esteem, and their respective bargaining positions in these types of negotiations.
They are Americans (Liberals).
“Even if I had the power to press a button and save them, I would not do so. I kinda like the idea of them suffering in what amounts to the culmination of their ideology.”
I don’t care who a reporter is working for. What matters is the honesty and quality of the reporting. And anyone who says that he wouldn’t life a finger to save a fellow American just because they work for Al Gore is part of the problem, not part of the solution.
