Oh come on! This is a very small potatoes problem for SNOBama. He’ll just talk to kImentally-ill for twenty minutes on the phone, and he’ll have those gals on their way back to algore carrying lollipops and roses. Don’t you share his certainty that everyone in the world just wants to get along? “All we need is love!”, and he sure has it for everyone! Certainly, that won’t escape NK’s wonderful diplomats and leadership. The only reason Ol’Hitlery failed because she doesn’t completely believe that.
Everyone is overreacting... besides that, it isn’t like these are Americans who are valuable enough to subsidize their existence by paying them to watch TV, or protected industry union workers, or fat cat Dem donors! These are people who have to help PAY huge taxes for those privileged- what good are they to Obama and the Dems? They don’t even need affirmative action programs in order to help them pay taxes, and that doesn’t help the Dems a whit!
Now, if they had been reporting for algore on how NK had been fearlessly upholding their carbon emissions targets under Kyoto and how NK was saving the world from global warming for the purple snail darters and underprivileged horned green lizard, they would have had more clout with help in getting released. Good propaganda value in something like that for the upcoming carbon cap-and-tax political fight. However, some mundane story like human trafficking that just makes it more difficult for SNOBama making nice to the whole world- forget it!
SNOBama will make his phone call, and no matter what the result of that is, this story will be completely gone in three weeks.

You are correct. No Drama Obama couldn’t care less about these women. You can bet he’s hoping the press buries the story long enough to give NK enough goodies to let them out.
In any case, I expect NK to go public with these women’s pleas. It should be horrendous, and a reminder to the nation of what Carter-like accomodation can do to both countries sense esteem, and their respective bargaining positions in these types of negotiations.
