FORT WORTH, TexasAuthorities say they are investigating a natural gas explosion at the Fort Worth, Texas, home of megachurch pastor T.D. Jakes.
Fort Worth fire spokesman Lt. Kent Worley says the blast Sunday in the sunroom of the home appears to have been an accident. Authorities say no one was injured and there was no fire. The sunroom was heavily damaged. Worley says the room had a gas-fed pool heater and a large gas-fed barbecue grill.

Methinks some of you are rather harsh on Jakes. He preaches the Bible and has lead a megachurch full of folks to follow Jesus Christ.
I thought making disciples for Christ was a good thing. That’s what I see him doing. Bearing fruit.
Jakes and Osteen are critcized rather unfairly for a supposed affiliation with the prosperity gospel. I see them doing the basic job of winning souls for Christ.
I do agree that Jake’s endorsement of Obama is repugnant.
“they play clips of him and talk about how he wont say homosexuality is a sin “
His son was arrested for soliciting a male prostitute.

Thank you for adding that! I watched in horror one night on the T.V. when he asked the people that were going to throw their money to the altar to “sure all the bills were straight and clean,so they would be easier to to count!” I have been taught to be careful not to judge men of God and not “ to touch God’s Anointed” but he is not what Jesus called His disciples to be.
Probably some tiny little leak in a line, and all it takes is some focused sunlight glinting off a shiny surface in the heat of the day. But Atmos Energy found no gas leak? Something got really, really hot. They’ll figure it out eventually.
I have always found that belief system interesting.
Knowing the fate of Christ, how Paul was beaten and imprisoned; etc...
Okay, so it’s kilochurch, megachurch, gigachurch and then terrachurch? That is SO FREAKING FUNNY!!! Thanks for the hilarious comparison, it rocks!
Then there’s Carlin’s nanochurch, the Frisbeeites, who believe that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof, and you can’t get it down.
“touch not God’s anointed” is a cliche used by pastors who don’t want to be examined. The Bible calls on us to use discernment and test the spirits of all prophets. The Greek word for “touch” meant to physically touch. A pastor isn’t more anointed than anyone else. That’s why Jesus said not to call any man “father” or “teacher” for we have ONE father and teacher and that is our Lord God.
Yes he is. The prosperity gospel is false and fake. He also sells out like Joel Olsteen and waters down things when on a secular show.
That big green “Christianity” slice is a Smorgasbord!
I don’t care much for Jakes’ showmanship either. About his being a self-proclaimed “bishop”: in some church bodies, all elders/presbyters/overseers are called bishops because they hold that the terms are various names for the same office. So I won’t hang that one on Jakes alone.
1 Samuel 24:9-10 (English Standard Version) 9And David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to the words of men who say, 'Behold, David seeks your harm'? 10Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the LORD gave you today into my hand in the cave.(A) And some told me to kill you, but I spared you.[a] I said, 'I will not put out my hand against my lord,(B) for he is the LORDs anointed.'
9 But David said to Abishai, Do not destroy him; for who can stretch out his hand against the LORDs anointed, and be guiltless?I Samuel 27:9
There are men of God that are God's Anointed! Then there are those that choose to live under cheap Grace, God have mercy on them! I pity them for their stupidity and easy living. They have their "Fun" now and will suffer later unless they repent!
Jakes is one of the few black urban pastors who tends toward a conservative view of the Bible and politics. He is a great speaker and have seen him at a convention out here in SoCal.
Only Carlin could have come up with one like that, God bless him I hope he trusted his soul with the Lord Jesus before he died; thanks to mankind’s insatiable desire to set up their own belief systems-—rejecting their Creator from day-one, we have all of these religions that serve only to confuse in writing their own ‘gospels’ and declare that there is no absolute wrong or right.
That’s right, ziravan. Because he’s a TV evangelist, some people here equate him with satan.
Don’t always believe what others say about preachers. Investigate for yourself. It may or may not be true but it’s still worthy of your personal investigation.
Interesting that they consider JW’s and Mormons under the Christian pie shape. NOT.
And it contains religions that most of us don’t consider Christian. Interesting.
And Roman Catholics, don’t forget the Catholics!
