A woman who found a pregnant hare lying dead in the road performed an emergency operation to deliver its baby. Caring Leila Goss, 25, spotted the mother hare after it was killed by a car and immediately noticed its swollen stomach.
She picked up the animal, which was still warm, and rushed her home to perform a caesarean section to try to save its young.
She cut open the hare and brought one of her unconscious litter back to life - by draining fluid from its lungs and blowing down its nose

Is this a trend?

Thank heaven. Rabbits are threatened species, right? WRONG.
This is the British Isles, which is about to become euthanasia central for the world, but only for humans, of course.
She was told to put it down.
We found a baby rabbit once. I knew better than to call the humane society so called an animal sanctuary. First thing the lady said was it was going to be put down because it was a wild animal and shouldn’t be around people. I told her no way and to give it back - no, I’d already given it to them so it was theirs. I had to argue for the longest with her to give it back and finally just snatched it up and got in the car. Never, ever call these people.
Nah, too late. It has the stench of decay.
Never call any Animal Protection organization with an incinerator. Call the nearest University with a Veterinary School.
Friend of mine’s son found a wild just born deer and his Dad called the Vet School. They told them exactly what to do to raise the animal, which they did, and they safely returned him to the wild, too. They saw the animal come up to their property the Spring after they released him and he had a doe by his side. They all stood looking at each other for a few moments, my friend’s family was in tears by this time, and then the deer and his mate turned and returned to the forest. They never saw them after that.
Wonderful story.
A few years back, a raccoon was badly injured after he stuck his face into the transformer on our power pole (he blinded himself and then broke a leg in the fall), but they took him in, tended his injuries, and then sent him over to Bernheim Forest, a nearby private wilderness preserve, where he was taken care of for the rest of his life.
