Joseph Hooks is a Seattle city employee and a commissioner on the Washington state Commission on African American Affairs...police say the [three month] delay [in charging Hooks with beating a white man] had nothing to do with his Hook's professional life...A few days after the incident, Hooks spoke with KOMO News. He first claimed he didn't remember a fight, but later said he had acted in self-defense...[The white victim, Michael] McBain's injuries were so severe he's had to put some of his medical studies at the University of Washington on hold. He may need surgery to repair his eye.

stormer asks:
“What's your point?”
If Michael McBain, the white guy, had brutally beaten the black commissioner, do you think it would have taken three months before charges were filed?

A few days after the incident, Hooks spoke with KOMO News. He first claimed he didn't remember a fight, but later said he had acted in self-defense. It's so nice when these people make such glaring inconsistent statements. It just destroys them.
Sue this AH till it hurts.

I don’t know, but Hooks has been charged. Not sure about you, but I’m old enough to remember situations where white folks would NEVER be charged with assaulting a black person.

IMO if the police knew who beat up this man then they should have arrested him asap. I don’t care if his skin is purple. They didn’t have to wait 3 months. He was identified & should have been arrested that night.

What *point* specifically makes this story irrelevant?

If those times ever return, then that will be something to worry about. Currently, however, we live in a society where black-on-white crime is a huge problem that is ignored by the media. Meanwhile, the same media salivate on the rare occasion that a white-on-black crime occurs, to the point even of running wild with stories they haven't even bothered to check up on, such as the Duke “rape” case.

I'm curious as to why zeestephen felt compelled to post a story that barely has local appeal here in Seattle, let alone to the folks in this forum.
