Jobs Ready to Return to Apple Helm
As Company Prepares New iPhone, CEO Comeback on Track After Six-Month Sick Leave
After months of uncertainty about Steve Jobs's health, the Apple Inc. chief executive appears on track to return from medical leave this month, said people familiar with Apple.
The big question now among Apple's business partners, investors and fans: Will Mr. Jobs make his reappearance at Apple's annual software developers' conference next week in San Francisco, possibly to unveil a new iPhone?
Mr. Jobs, a survivor of pancreatic cancer, went on medical leave in January. He had earlier exhibited significant weight loss, and cited a nutritional problem related to a hormone imbalance. The unexpected departure, and the few details about ...

Dam..stocks gonna rise.
Mr. Jobs, a survivor of pancreatic cancer,
Seriously, best of luck and God speed to Mr. Jobs.
If one were conspiratorial, you might imagine that Apple engineered his sickness and resurrection just for that purpose. Pancreatic cancer is a very tough nut to crack.
Good for him. God bless.
Sorry, a little sick but I had to say it.
God Speed - Steve Jobs.

Well, the pancreatic cancer was something from the past. From what I read, it was a rare form of pancreatic cancer, which turned out to be a very treatable kind. BUT, that (pancreatic cancer) was not the health issue that was being addressed in this current medical leave, because that cancer was successfully treated in the past.
From a reporter who was given access to Jobs’ medical records to be able to write an article about it — he said the health matter was not life threatening (as some were trying to say a number of months ago). That reporter wasn’t allowed to report exactly what it was, but he was allowed to look over the medical info to be able to say what it wasn’t (i.e., it wasn’t pancreatic cancer), and that it was not life-threatening.
The rumors started swirling around about the pancreatic cancer coming back (probably from those who had market positions that they wanted to move one way or the other) — when it was seen that Jobs had visible weight loss. But, considering that he’s a veggie, he probably could have cured that by chowing-down on some meat and potatoes for a while... LOL...
Now, my guess is that Jobs could probably have stayed working at the company without any problem, but when the issue of his weight loss took on a higher “reporting quotient” than the products the company, Apple, was making and the new and updated products coming out — Jobs probably decided to take himself “out of the limelight” in order to stop all the distracting (reporting) talk, which was derailing public attention away from the products Apple was making.
I sort of doubt that he had to really leave because of medical reasons (i.e., that the problem was not that serious anyway). He left because of marketing reasons, that he personally decided was better — this way.
So, it’s probably all a “tempest in a teapot” — as it usually is with the *big deal* that the press makes of Apple (pretty much always concentrating on the negatives) — at times... LOL...
I just pulled up those little charts on my iPhone... :-)
Thanks SM.
