WASHINGTON - The government's inadvertent and red-faced Internet posting of a 266-page list of U.S. nuclear sites provided a one-step guide for anyone wanting details about such sensitive information. Obama administration officials said Wednesday the document contained no classified material about nuclear weapons. They contended the locations and other details already were available from public sources.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu said "a snafu" led to the online posting. "A little embarrassing," he acknowledged.
The document, stamped "highly confidential safeguards sensitive," made it onto the Government Printing Office's Web site - and why that happened was not immediately clear. A newsletter that focuses on government secrecy quickly picked up on it. The printing office removed the document when informed "about the potential sensitive nature" of the list, the agency said.
By then it was too late.
Well isn’t that just dandy. /sarc

Obama’s Fault!
Brought to you by the administration that dropped all charges against Abd al-Nashiri, mastermind of the USS Cole attack.

No Accident
If you believe the so-called “experts,” the recent, on-line publication of a detailed report on U.S. nuclear facilities was nothing more than an “accident.”
...
Getting that report on that unclassified web site, took several deliberate steps (or mistakes, depending on your perspective). First, the document had to be downloaded from a classified system and then copied or uploaded onto the unclassified site. Quite a series of missteps, wouldn’t you say?
...
You can find this information at any online bookstore. You can find every atomic test the U.S. and Russia over the last 50 years also on the internet. To me, a person who studies nuclear issues its nothing new. They are re-hashing of information.
Mistake? Doubt it. Just another way for the Hate-America crowd to ‘even the playing field’.
...and this is the outfit that wants to be in charge of our health care information and decisions.
Anyone who thinks this was an accident is a fool.
There are no “mistakes” in D.C.
It’s a good thing the fools in our government don’t work with the fools in the Pakistani government, or else the Taliban would know where the nukes are by now.
If you believe Obama and his “Amateur” extraordinaire’s inadvertently published this list, I’ve got beach front property in North Dakota you may be interested in.
These so-called ‘Embarrassing’ mistakes are not mistakes at all. They are intended to weaken public resolve, instill fear and uncertainly in Americans, and embolden our enemies.
Arm yourselves.......with prayer, vigilance, and firepower.
This was no ‘mistake.’
“We don’t want to make this easier for people to get this kind of information. Unfortunately something like this makes it easier,”
So do internet searches. (and spy satellites, spies, loose lips and governments selling tech to other nations)
Log it in as an ‘Intelligence Cap and Trade’.
Seems like it would be hard to do something like this. How could it happen accidentally? yikes!
“Embarrassing mistake makes US the laughing stock of the world” its called HOPE and CHANGE!!
Ya, I haven’t heard much blowback from this.
Can you imagine if this had happened during the Bush Administration?????????
Then again, the same people who might have criticized Bush for something like this were happy that the N.Y. Times published the details of the overseas telephone surveillance of suspected terrorists. So maybe Dems. wouldn’t have said anything if this happened with Bush.
