John McCain and Barack Obama -- presidential rivals last year -- agreed today on the need for progress to a world free of nuclear weapons.
McCain, the veteran Republican senator from Arizona, spoke on the Senate floor to mark the unveiling of a statue in the Capitol Rotunda of the late President Ronald Reagan, who also dreamed of a nuke-free world.
"This is a distant and difficult goal," McCain said. "And we must proceed toward it prudently and pragmatically, and with a focused concern for our security and the security of allies who depend on us. But the Cold War ended almost twenty years ago, and the time has come to take further measures to reduce dramatically the number of nuclear weapons in the world's arsenals. In so doing, the United States can and indeed, must show the kind of leadership the world expects from us, in the tradition of American presidents who worked to reduce the nuclear threat to mankind."

Open primary as opposed to closed primary.
In a closed Republican primary, for example, only registered party members can participate in the election.
The dim power brokers have changed election laws in some states to make it easier to change party affiliation right there at the polls during the primary election. This way they can sway the nomination process towards the weakest opposition candidate.
In my opinion, that’s how we got Grandpa McLaime.

We all dream of a nuclear free world. Like children dream, we dream. Like children grow up and realize their dreams were unrealistic, we have to wise up and realize it’s unrealistic to think this world will ever be free from nuclear weapons.
You either make others a target, or you become one.
Nuclear proliferation is accelerating, and these two buffoons want us to cut our stockpile to the bone.
What they propose is national suicide.
We are going from the premier nation on the planet, to an endangered species in less than a generation.
That John McCain would feed into this, reveals to me what a consummate turncoat asshole he really is.
