The consultant who helped Bill Clinton win the Arkansas governorship has joined the Christy Mihos campaign.

Dick Morris, a Fox News contributor and veteran of several campaigns, including former Massachusetts governors Bill Weld and Ed King, will oversee strategy, polling and advertising for Mihos, the first announced Republican candidate to challenge Gov. Deval Patrick.

Is Deval Patrick running for re-election? Even if he is, does he have primary challengers?

I don’t know on either question.

There has been rumors of the state treasurer, Tim Cahill(D) running. He’d be somewhat of an improvement over Coupe Deval. But he’s still a D.

I wonder if Tom Riley will run again. The Kennedy group played some dirty tricks to move him out of the way and make room for Deval.

He says he is...and there are rumblings of challengers because Deval has less than 50% support among democrats and even less among the general electorate. I'm not sure why...something about tax increases, property tax relief that never materialized, an explosion in government expansion that included a bevy of made-up jobs and high salaries for Deval's campaign workers and friends.

I'm surprised by this Dick Morris story...he's sleazy, though, and that will probably bring him success in Massachusetts politics.

His base of support is public employee hacks who get jobs through nepotism and by moon-bats. We have plenty of both.

Christy Mihos is a slug. He knew he could not win the last election so he acted as a spoiler and prevented Mit Romneys former running mate from attaining the position. The result = Cadilac Duval got elected.

Christy Mihos only cares about Christy Mihos.

Slick Willard prevented a Republican from succeeding him. Mihos was a mere gnat.

Until the MA GOP drives out the remaining leftists keeping it in its current state of advanced decomposition (it’s been dead since 2006) and works on winning offices from the bottom-up with fresh Conservatives (students and other Conservative activists that have either been shut out of the party or have currently given up on the political process), trying to win the Governorship is a pointless and worthless exercise. With a 90% rodent/10% rodent-agent RINO legislature, they’d only be an impotent figurehead.

What you say makes all the sense in the world. But, with the makeup of the state, a RINO is about the best us Mass-holes can hope for. I actually hope Carl Howell (Libertarian) runs again, she'd get my vote. The MA state GOP is a frigging mess, for sure - they should fold into the Libertarian party.

Mitt (yes him) did try to run candidates in 2004, and all of them lost. And the long time moderate Democrats (Marie Parente for example) have been defeated as well in primaries the last couple elections. So as a whole, the electorate has taken a sharp turn to the left in the candidates they elect.

It comes down to voting for the person that will do us the least amount of harm. In this state, a RINO that I agree with 20% of the time is better than scum like Coupe Deval, who not only do I disagree with 100% of the time, but, would rip the teeth out of my mouth and give them to an illegal alien if he could.

Honestly, this state is lost. The rest of NE, with the exception of maybe NH and the governorship of RI is toast. The only Republicans than can even dream of winning are, unfortunately, RINO’s. And at this point even that's extremely iffy. It takes a colossal failure like Coupe Deval to even make it a possibility for any Republican to win, which in itself is again, sad. And to think the American Revolution started here.
