Typical European engineering, elegant, effecient but flawed. The Europeans do not know how, or care, to design seats that are of any comfort on overseas flights.
I used to do quite a few business trips from DC to Europe and while it got a little uncomfortable after nine to ten hours at least the Boeing aircraft were much better than the Airbus seats.
Half way over the pond in an Airbus and my butt would get numb.

"Half way over the pond in an Airbus and my butt would get numb." Maybe the average US butt doesn't fit european seats.

" Half way over the pond in an Airbus and my butt would get numb... " for me , that's any plane, and my back also....
Criticisms aside of Airbus or Boeing... we still don't know what really happen yet...
Any plane would be hard pressed to fly stable in really bad weather or storm.

The Europeans do not know how, or care, to design seats that are of any comfort on overseas flights. I've heard that complaint about Boeing too. The fact of the matter is: Airlines, not the plane mfg's, are responsible for choosing interior components and layout.
